<p>Summary/Objective</p> <p>Responsible for the day-to-day performance of the project, ensuring that Construction Technicians provide quality service to the customer and support the Project Manager(s) in achieving company financial and business goals.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Provide timely and accurate routing of daily workload which could include aerial, underground or MDU type work. </li><li>Ensure assigned projects are completed to specifications and completed within customer deadline. </li><li>Perform daily or weekly review of technician time sheets for proper coding and time keeping. </li><li>Perform QA inspections on the work completed by the technicians. </li><li>Provide employee performance feedback, coaching and counseling (in conjunction with Human Resources) in a timely manner. </li><li>Investigate and resolve damage claims in a timely manner. </li><li>Work with customers to resolve service-related complaints. </li><li>Conduct weekly vehicle and tool inspections per company established guidelines. </li><li>Conduct weekly team meetings with emphasis on safety and quality. </li><li>Call in Locates for underground work. </li><li>Flexibility to work on-call rotation or emergency situations when needed. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. </li><li>Working knowledge of aerial bucket trucks, underground machines such as trencher, mini-ex, and directional bore. </li><li>Knowledge of city codes for underground work such as permits, restoration, traffic control. </li><li>Ability to use a personal computer and software applications to include Microsoft Office. </li><li>Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. </li><li>Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. </li><li>Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate others </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibility</p> <ul> <li>Sets goals for performance and deadlines in ways the comply with company and clients plans and vision. </li><li>Trains new staff in the department. </li><li>Organizes/oversees workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks. </li><li>Monitors employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching. Provides timely performance evaluations. </li><li>Partners with HR/Legal to address performance issues of employees in accordance with company policy. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>Able to work in all non-climate-controlled environment and all-weather conditions except for unsafe or extreme weather conditions. </li></ul> <p>Position Type/Expected Hours of Work</p> <ul> <li>40+ hours per week </li><li>Some weekends </li></ul> <p>Travel</p> <ul> <li>Limited travel may be required to other projects </li></ul> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>3+ years of experience in cable TV filed operations including aerial and underground cable construction practices, MDU/Commercial wiring and codes, and technical knowledge for activation and repair of plant. </li></ul> <p>Additional Eligibility Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>This is a DOT regulated position and it requires a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) to be obtained every year during employment and a DOT Physical every 1-2 years. </li></ul> <p>AAP/EEO Statement</p> <p>NextEdge provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.
