We focus on their goals and priorities, guiding them toward financial choices that will help them live the life they want today-and tomorrow.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Trust Business Development Officer is responsible for providing business consulting, sales support, and training to Advisors to learn how to effectively offer personal trust, estate settlement, private client, and institutional services to clients.</p> <p>This role drives new fiduciary business opportunities, expands relationships with centers of influence (COIs), and promotes the organization's trust, estate, and wealth management services.</p> <p>The Trust Business Development Officer role combines consultative sales, relationship management, and fiduciary knowledge to generate sustainable revenue growth while upholding the highest standards of ethics and client service.</p> <p>Additionally, this role is responsible for collaborating to develop Trust Company training materials.</p> <p>This role works across various areas of the organization and requires strong organization, marketing, and communication skills.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities and Duties</p> <p>Business Development</p> <ul> <li>Identify, cultivate, and close new trust and fiduciary relationships (revocable and irrevocable trusts, estate administration, agency accounts, custody, etc.). </li><li>Develop and execute a business development plan to meet annual revenue and asset growth goals. </li><li>Build and maintain referral relationships with attorneys, CPAs, financial advisors, and other COIs. </li><li>Represent the organization at networking events, community engagements, and professional associations. </li></ul> <p>Client Relationship Management</p> <ul> <li>Partner with Trust Officers, Portfolio Managers, and Wealth Advisors to deliver comprehensive fiduciary solutions. </li><li>Conduct discovery meetings to assess client needs and recommend appropriate trust services. </li><li>Ensure smooth onboarding and transition of new relationships. </li><li>Partner with other business areas to provide Trust services to both internal and external Advisors. </li><li>Provide support to Thrivent Field Representatives and independent advisors in client meetings, both virtual and in-person, presenting trust services. </li><li>Provide consultation to Thrivent Field Representatives and independent advisors for complex trust service needs. </li></ul> <p>Training</p> <ul> <li>Proactive identification of current training needs for the field which align with goals to increase Thrivent Trust Company awareness. </li><li>Collaborate with leaders to determine how to best to deliver training and what training is required. </li><li>Provide input in development of training courses and support materials. Schedule and deliver trainings across various platforms virtual and in-person. </li></ul> <p>Technical & Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Maintain working knowledge of trust administration, estate planning strategies, fiduciary regulations, and tax considerations. </li><li>Ensure all new business opportunities align with fiduciary risk standards and compliance requirements. </li></ul> <p>Job Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or related field. </li><li>Minimum of 3 years of successful direct selling or sales support experience of trust services and/or investment management services, wealth management, private banking, or financial services. </li><li>Demonstrated competence in public speaking and training. </li><li>Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. </li><li>Working knowledge of fiduciary principles and estate planning concepts. </li><li>Strong sales, networking, and relationship-building skills. </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deal with numerous priorities simultaneously. </li><li>Goal-oriented self-starter who can work in an unstructured environment with minimal supervision. </li><li>Strong written and interpersonal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work closely with internal and external business partners, current and prospective clients, strategic partners, attorneys and other professional centers of influence. </li><li>Position requires 30% travel. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>CFP (Certified Financial Planner), CTFA (Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor). </li><li>Working knowledge of professional trust services. </li><li>Previous business development skills and experience. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <ul> <li>This position allows a flexible work arrangement meaning you may work on-site and/or remotely from the Appleton, WI or Minneapolis, MN area. </li></ul> <p>Pay Transparency</p> <p>Thrivent's long-term growth depends on attracting, rewarding, and retaining people who are committed to helping others thrive with purpose. The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $73,955.00 - $100,059.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions.
