<p>Nature of Work</p> <p>This position is essential to maintain the WV Source Water Assessment and Protection Program (SWAP) and the associated Wellhead Protection Program (WHP) as approved by the US EPA. This position will review and approve source water, wellhead protection plans and other written reports for technical accuracy. Review the design, construction and well driller field activities within each source water and wellhead protection area to assure existing and future wells or surface intakes are afforded maximum protection. Research, develop and approve methodology (using higher mathematics, models, hydrology and advanced geological principles} to scientifically establish wellhead protection areas and serve as the expert in geological, hydrological groundwater modeling, hydrology methods, well construction and abandonment.
