We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse II who brings strong oncology expertise, confidence in complex clinical decision making, and a passion for patient centered care in the ambulatory infusion setting.Our nurses build on a legacy of excellence by advancing the science of nursing, partnering closely with interdisciplinary teams, and advocating for patients and families.About the RoleThe Registered Nurse - Oncology Infusion provides high acuity, specialized oncology care in an ambulatory environment. This role is well suited for nurses who are comfortable managing complex therapies, independently assessing patient needs, and serving as a clinical resource within a collaborative care team.Clinical orientation, ongoing education, and competency validation are supported by an experienced Nurse Leader and specialty team.Job Description:What You'll DoBIDMC @ MAH Infusion PracticeIndependently administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologics, supportive therapies, and transfusionsPerform comprehensive patient assessments, including review of labs, symptoms, and treatment toleranceIdentify and respond to adverse reactions and emergent clinical changesSafely place, access, and maintain peripheral IVs and central venous access devicesApply evidence-based oncology nursing standards in daily practiceCare Coordination & Clinical LeadershipServe as a key clinical partner within a multidisciplinary oncology teamCoordinate care across services, including Radiation Therapy, Nutrition, Social Work, and Physical TherapyCollaborate with BIDMC Boston and additional BIDMC ambulatory sitesSupport continuity of care through shared care plans, symptom management, and referralsAct as a strong patient advocate while building trusting relationships with patients and familiesTriage, Communication & Care ManagementManage complex clinical telephone triage using advanced nursing judgmentDetermine urgency and appropriate disposition for patient calls and electronic communicationsFacilitate urgent and routine appointment schedulingProvide clear education on treatment plans, side-effect management, and when to seek careSupport patients with stable chronic conditions through medication reconciliation, prescription renewals, and care coordinationProfessional Practice & GrowthMaintain all mandatory education and oncology-specific competenciesParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical service meetingsDemonstrate accountability for patient safety, professional practice, and clinical outcomesContribute to a collegial, high-performing oncology nursing cultureRequired QualificationsGraduation from an accredited nursing programActive Registered Nurse (RN) licenseAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification1-3 years of related nursing experienceBasic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based applicationsPreferred QualificationsPrior oncology or infusion nursing experienceExperience in a teaching hospital environmentSpecialty expertise within oncology careThis role is ideal for oncology nurses who want to practice at the top of their license while making a meaningful impact for patients and families. Pay Range: $37.00 - $95.74The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
