<p>Description</p> <p>Per Diem Histo Tech Opportunity!</p> <p>Hours: Will vary based on need, primarily 12p-830p</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Accurately fixes, embeds, cuts and stains tissue for Pathologist interpreation and diagnosis. Provides quality technical and customer service to all customers.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Provides quality technical and customer service to all customers in compliance with the expectations set by the organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs computer accessioning and proper specimen labeling, insuring specimen integrity.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists Pathology Residents and Pathologists as needed in Frozen Section & Gross Room as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs routine Histology procedures necessary to prepare slides for examination by Pathologists, including but not limited to embedding, cutting, mounting, and staining.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs special stains in accordance to quality standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Initiates work procedures and performs all quality control, instrument maintenance & documentation required by accrediting agencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates effectively and appropriately with coworkers, pathology residents & pathologists to assure the quality & integrity of the service.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a safe environment for one's self and coworkers to comply with all regulatory agencies & with hospital's & Laboratory's Safety Programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in maintaining section's inventory to ensure proper levels of reagents, controls and disposables.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in Laboratory Performance Improvement Program.</p> </li><li> <p>Teaches and trains new employees, students and Pathology Residents.</p> </li><li> <p>Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>Education: ASSOCIATE'S LVL DGRE</p> <p>Other Information:</p> <p>Required: Associate Degree</p> <p>Minimum Experience: one year</p> <p>Desired: Histotechnologist certification preferred or eligible.</p> <p>Share: Share with Email Share on Twittershare to twitter Share on Facebookshare to facebook Share on LinkedInshare to linkedin</p>
