<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Under the guidance of the Manager Compliance and Privacy or Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer (or designee) the Privacy Compliance Specialist assists in coordinating all aspects of the Privacy program. Is responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission ,vision, values of Tampa General Hospital.</p> <ul> <li>Develops written materials and training programs to promote understanding of privacy issues, laws and regulations, and consequences of non-compliance. </li><li>Maintain records, reports, and documentation related to privacy activities. </li><li>Develop and update privacy policies and procedures according to regulatory changes and best practices. </li><li>Implement system-wide programs to ensure compliance, performs risk assessments, researches and resolves privacy related issues, develops training materials and monitoring tools, reviews and revises system-wide policies and procedures. </li><li>Acts has a liaison for the Corporate Compliance and Privacy department with stake holders and vendors throughout the enterprise. </li><li>Monitors all operational processes and procedures using a compliance/privacy management platform to ensure that the company complies with all legal regulations and ethical standards. </li><li>Performs detailed info gathering, process mapping, analysis and other activities with the objective to identify and assess compliance risks </li><li>Review operations, transactions, and practices to detect and report any compliance breaches or irregularities. </li><li>Demonstrates current knowledge of federal and state regulations governing the healthcare industry, developing and coordinating educational programs on elements of compliance </li><li>Identify potential privacy risks and vulnerabilities within the organization's operations </li><li>Investigate reported violations, irregularities, or complaints, document findings, and recommend corrective actions. </li><li>Bachelor's Degree in healthcare, business, legal, or other related field. </li><li>Compliance Healthcare Certification, Compliance Healthcare Privacy Certification, AHIMA Certification, and/or other privacy related certification. </li><li>5 years in healthcare compliance with a focus in privacy, healthcare auditing , healthcare operations with a Bachelor's degree. An equivalent combination of education and years of experience. </li></ul>
