<p>The Position</p> <p>Review Appraisers appraise real property and review appraisals of all types of properties including complex commercial, industrial and special purpose; prepare fully-supported and documented determinations of just compensation for the acquisition of rights-of-way or disposal of surplus properties; conduct market rent studies and cost estimates; and serve as an expert witness in condemnation proceedings.</p> <p>Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.</p> <p>Incumbent develops appraisals and appraisal reviews and produce appraisal reports and appraisal review reports, involving the acquisition of property and property rights for transportation projects, as well as for the disposal of surplus properties. Appraisals and appraisal reviews for right-of-way purposes use state-rule valuation techniques and follow eminent-domain reporting formats. Other duties include the preparation of cost estimates, rental evaluations and studies, and assignments involving consultation and advisement. Incumbents oversee administration and coordination, adhere to office protocol and procedures, and are responsible for work adjustment and adaptability.
