<p>Commissioners</p> <p>Board of Revisions (Intermittent)</p> <p>General Description</p> <p>The primary purpose of the Board of Revision (BOR) Representative is to function as a hearing officer for the Medina County Board of Commissioners on all appeals to property tax valuations. The classification requires researching and reviewing testimony and evidence presented by the property owners as complaints to the board.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <p>The individual appointed by the Medina County Board of Commissioners shall:</p> <ul> <li>Attend and participate in all Board of Revision hearings and deliberations. </li><li>Review evidence, documentation, property characteristics, and testimony submitted by complainants and counter-complainants. </li><li>Evaluate market data, appraisal information, and comparable property information to support accurate and fair valuation decisions. </li><li>Review and approve Board journal entries, statutory notifications, and related documentation. </li><li>Participate in the preparation and approval of transcripts for appealed decisions. </li><li>Maintain impartiality, professionalism, and confidentiality consistent with quasi-judicial requirements. </li><li>Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including periods of high volume during the valuation complaint season. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience including but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Any combination of training, experience, or public-sector involvement that demonstrates the ability to fulfill statutory duties of the Budget Commission. </li><li>Background in public administration, finance, budgeting, real estate valuation, or related fields preferred but not required. </li><li>Must be eligible to serve as a designated appointee of the Medina County Board of Commissioners under Ohio law. </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must be a resident elector of Medina County. </li><li>No special license or certification required. </li><li>Must be able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical requirements of quasi-judicial board service. </li><li>No supervisory responsibilities. </li></ul> <p>Unusual Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>The Board may experience high seasonal workload during complaint periods. </li><li>Hearings may be scheduled with limited flexibility due to statutory deadlines. </li><li>This position serves at the pleasure of the Medina County Board of Commissioners and may be reappointed or replaced at the Board's discretion. </li></ul> <p>This is a paid position with an hourly rate of $30-$39 based on experience.</p> <p>Please Send Resume or Application to:</p> <p>Medina County Human Resources</p> <p>144 North Broadway St., Suite 202</p> <p>Medina, OH 44256</p> <p>or hr@medinacounty.gov</p>
