This position requires direct patient healthcare knowledge and experience to support students and faculty in learning, practicing, and being assessed on clinical skills consistent with the directed curriculum. The role oversees hands-on clinical skills learning activities within CTAC, supports lab operations, provides orientation for first- and third-year students, facilitates graduate medical education (GME) readiness opportunities, and coordinates Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).</p> <p>Position Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Direct the operational and curricular activities of the CTAC labs across all campuses (Athens, Cleveland, and Dublin), collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure standardization, consistency, and quality. Provide direction for how CTAC spaces and programs align with the Office of Medical Education's strategic vision. Develop and maintain manuals, processes, checklists, and communication tools to support operational consistency across CTAC labs. </li><li>Oversee and manage non-Professional Health and Wellness Coaching (non-PHWC) curriculum events, as well as Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) courses, providing instruction as needed. Act as a liaison among faculty, staff, and students to ensure consistent educational experiences across campuses in the organization and implementation of clinical labs, simulations, practical exams, written exams, and remediations. </li><li>Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to Athens CTAC staff and Standardized Patients, including hiring, training, supervision, and performance management. Effectively manage staff and resources, and oversee the maintenance and use of equipment and technology in line with institutional goals and policies. </li><li>Maintain inventory, manage the purchase and upkeep of educational equipment, simulators, and supplies, and implement Business Continuity Plans for all clinical skills sites. Maintain working knowledge of learning system technologies and equipment used by faculty in the curriculum, monitoring and recommending upgrades as needed. Ensure all CTAC spaces are well-maintained, safe, and fully equipped to support experiential learning. </li><li>Oversee the collection of learning outcomes data for all activities and collaborate with faculty to disseminate findings. Implement initiatives to improve the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of clinical skills programming across all campuses. </li></ul> <p>Position Profile</p> <p>Implements strategies, systems, and processes to support the academic and career outcomes of students in the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (HCOM). Provides frontline academic advising and support to graduate medical students. Develops and implements programs to enhance students' academic success in the medical program. Drives engagement and empowers students to achieve their academic goals. Builds relationships with students. Provides guidance on programs, procedures, and academic requirements specific to HCOM.</p> <p>Level Summary</p> <p>Regularly serves as a technical leader, expert, or program manager for complex functions or initiatives that require deep subject-matter knowledge. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 8 or more years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a clinical or healthcare-related field. </li><li>6 years of related professional experience, including direct patient care in a clinical healthcare setting. </li><li>1 year of supervisory experience. </li></ul> <p>Department HCOM - Medical Education Pay Rate</p> <p>The approved hiring range for this position is $58,972 to $78,139. Offers outside of this range require additional approvals. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate's education and experience in relation to the minimum qualifications for the position.
