You'll also enjoy perks like exclusive Skechers shoe discounts, early paycheck access, and more! </li></ul> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Driver, reporting directly to the Executive Director, is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of residents to and from community activities, appointments, and other destinations. This position plays an important role in enhancing residents' independence and quality of life by assisting with mobility needs, ensuring the securement of wheelchairs and other equipment, and providing courteous, reliable service. The Driver also maintains the cleanliness, safety, and readiness of community vehicles, adheres to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and safety regulations, and communicates effectively with residents, families, and community leadership to ensure transportation services are delivered with dignity, respect, and exceptional customer service.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Drive vehicle from community area to destination according to assigned schedule. </li><li>Assist passengers into and out of vehicle. </li><li>Secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip. </li><li>Operate radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service. </li><li>Clean and service vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories. </li><li>Meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. </li><li>Ensure effective communication is being utilized by community staff with the residents' families concerning residents' care, encompassing their physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing. </li><li>Work well with others and take direction from management, as well as taking initiative with the capability to engage in conflict intervention and resolution for residents, families, employees, and others as needed. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred. </li><li>A minimum of one (1) year of public transportation experience is preferred, with prior experience in a senior living community strongly desired. </li><li>CPR or BLS certification preferred. </li><li>Must be at least 21 years of age to operate any Cedarhurst vehicle. </li><li>Must be over the age of 23 to operate a Cedarhurst 15 passenger van. </li><li>Must hold and maintain an active, valid driver's license in good standing (clean driving record), with the ability to meet community and state driving requirements. </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in common digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word), web-based platforms, electronic health record systems, and any HR-related systems as applicable. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>This position may need to walk, sit, or stand for extended periods and move throughout the community, resident apartments, and other areas of the community. </li><li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, as well as climb or balance. </li><li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively and identify/interpret written information. </li><li>This position may need to lift up to fifty (50) pounds independently, and up to 200 pounds with assistance. </li><li>Individuals in this position are required to follow all infection prevention and control protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, to ensure the health and safety of residents, staff, and visitors. </li><li>This role involves actively participating in all staff activities aimed at fostering teamwork, unity, and morale. The individual will contribute as a collaborative team player, working alongside colleagues to create a supportive and cohesive work environment. </li><li>Individuals in this position are required to stay current on all training and ongoing education initiatives. They are expected to actively pursue self-improvement and embrace opportunities for continuous learning to enhance their skills and knowledge. </li></ul> <p>We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
