<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Performs under the general supervision of the Convention & Visitors Bureau Director. Will operate City owned trolley bus in a safe, courteous and efficient manner. Will operate trolley bus over specific routes throughout the City collecting and dropping-off passengers at various locations.</p> <p>Typical Duties:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Report to duty promptly in proper uniform and physical condition.</p> </li><li> <p>Properly operate trolley bus over prescribed route, following a time schedule.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide information to passengers in a courteous, efficient manner; use proper etiquette to assist passengers with disabilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Use correct safety procedures to operate lift, secure wheelchairs and other assistive devices when assisting passengers with disabilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Operate trolley bus smoothly and safely; conduct daily vehicle inspections to insure safety.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare written reports on traffic accidents, trolley bus incidents, road damage, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Operate two-way radio system in accordance with established rules and regulations of the City of Granbury.</p> </li><li> <p>Make announcements to passengers upon approaching prescribed destination.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in activities that support community events.</p> </li></ol> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must be 21 years old or older </li><li>High School Diploma or GED; </li><li>3 years' experience in driving bus, trolley or related equipment </li><li>Excellent driving record, not more than one (1) moving violation within the last three (3) years. </li><li>Must have Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or be able to obtain one before reporting to work. </li><li>Ability to deal effectively with supervisors, subordinates, and the public. </li><li>Speak clearly and distinctly when talking to passengers. </li><li>Read safety rules, training manuals, regulations, etc. Know the driving rules and regulations of the Texas Department of Public Safety. </li><li>Respond to pressures to meet time schedules. </li><li>Solve practical problems when dealing with passenger's safety. </li><li>Understand and follow verbal and written instructions. </li><li>Practice good customer service skills in dealing with difficult situations. </li><li>Work with little supervision. Work alone and as a part of a team. </li><li>Work after regular work hours and weekends. Be able to pass Physical examination including back evaluation and drug and alcohol screening. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Daily use of trolley bus (including lift, tie downs and bus radio), telephone. Frequent need to secure wheelchair and other assistive devices. Work includes but not limited to exposure to dampness, dirt, noise, temperature extremes, vehicle fumes, petroleum products, chemicals, vehicle vibrations, traffic, road and weather conditions. Subject to Sitting and standing to perform the essential job functions.
