<p>Family and Community Engagement Coordinator-Early Childhood JobID: 690</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Professional/Educational</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>8/21/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Office of the Mayor</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>ASAP</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Tues.-September 9, 2025.</p> <p>  </p> <p>FAMILY & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR-EARLY CHILDHOOD</p> <p>OFFICE OF THE MAYOR - SCHOOL READINESS</p> <p>SUMMARY: Responsible for the coordination of family-centered programming, community outreach, and supporting broader community planning and partnerships; works in conjunction with the Bristol Early Childhood Liaison (currently School Readiness Liaison) and the Bristol Early Childhood Collaborative (currently School Readiness Council). Develops and implements outreach strategies; organizes community events, workshops, and forums that support family education, early childhood development, and awareness of resources. Establishes and maintains partnerships with community organizations, social service providers, and local agencies. Supports the recruitment, training, and mentorship of Parent Ambassadors. Maintains records of outreach efforts, participation data, and program outcomes; prepares reports, and funding entities as required. Collaborates with stakeholders to assess community needs, and develops responsive programming that aligns with BECC goals. Utilizes social media and other communication tools to promote events, resources, and initiatives. The position is contingent upon grant-funding.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Requires Associate's Degree plus four (4) years of experience conducting family and community outreach, with knowledge and experience in Early Care and Education (ECE) programs including Parent Leadership, Circle of Security, or other family-centric initiatives. Requires excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; experience using Microsoft Outlook, intermediate level software experience in Microsoft Office Suite; and experience managing various social media platforms. Requires demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and marginalized communities. Prefer familiarity with data collection tools and community assessment methodologies. Experience facilitating parent leadership programs, family engagement training, or similar initiatives.</p> <p>License(s) and/or Certification: Requires valid CT Driver's License.</p> <p>WORK SCHEDULE: 37½ hours per week. Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (½ hour unpaid lunch period), and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (no lunch period).
