<p>Position Description:</p> <p>The Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin (F & MCW) Transplant Service Line and the MCW Division of Transplant Surgery are seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible liver transplant surgeon interested in advancing an academic career in a vibrant and growing transplant center.</p> <p>Join us in transforming health care and connecting communities to the best of what academic medicine offers by providing exceptional care for liver diseases in the diverse communities of the greater Milwaukee, Wisconsin region!</p> <p>The liver transplant program underwent a transformational change in the last 18 months and has ambitious plans with innovation, quality, and clinical excellence for the future. The transplant program has a 20-bed ICU that has outstanding expertise in the management of decompensated liver disease patients.</p> <p>Opportunity</p> <ul> <li>Full-time faculty position within the MCW Division of Transplant Surgery and the Department of Surgery in conjunction with the F & MCW Transplant Service Line. </li><li>Opportunity to grow the adult liver transplant program. </li><li>Opportunity to build the Living Donor Liver Transplant program at Froedtert Hospital and Children's Wisconsin in partnership with Faculty colleagues. </li><li>Contribute to surgical management of children's liver diseases including liver transplantation, liver tumor surgery and management of portal hypertension. </li><li>Collaborate with transplant surgeons, hepatologists, intensivists, transplant and hepatology APPs, and other members of the service line to expand liver transplant care. </li><li>Contribute to the clinical education of fellows, residents, medical students, and other trainees. </li><li>Participate in the academic, research and educational missions of the institution. </li><li>A strong intensivist and inpatient APP team for care of patients in the Transplant Intensive Care Unit (TICU). </li><li>Robust support for clinical research </li><li>Focus on a patient-centered approach to delivery of care and engage in a climate of inquiry, quality, and safety. </li></ul> <p>Education, training, and experience required:</p> <ul> <li>Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Surgery. </li><li>Candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in Wisconsin. </li><li>Candidates must have training/experience from an accredited liver fellowship/equivalent including living donor liver transplantation. </li><li>Experience with machine perfusion technology is essential. </li><li>Experience in split liver transplantation, pediatric liver transplantation, hepatobiliary surgery are desirable. </li></ul> <p>Compensation & Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Salary, research support, and benefits will be commensurate with rank and experience, and the candidate will hold appropriate academic rank in the Medical College of Wisconsin School of Medicine. </li><li>Highly competitive compensation with a full benefits package, 2 weeks of CME and professional development allowance, occurrence-based malpractice insurance, 403b match, outstanding employer-funded health and retirement plan, and generous relocation allowance. </li><li>Physician engagement and wellness is a core focus area for Froedtert and MCW. </li><li>Value highly placed on multiple avenues for academic pursuits including research, quality improvement, and education. </li><li>Opportunities for conducting focused clinical trials research with full support from research coordinators through the Division of Transplant Surgery. </li></ul> <p>FROEDTERT AND THE mEDICAL cOLLEGE OF wISCONSIN tRANSPLANT sERVICE lINE</p> <p>The Transplant Service Line is a joint program of Froedtert Hospital, the academic medical center of the Froedtert health network & the Medical College of Wisconsin, with vital support by Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin for tissue typing and research initiatives.
