You may also work as a nursing assistant, which may include help with walking, dressing, bathing, personal grooming, and some light housekeeping. Some shifts may temporarily act as receptionist.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Nursing Aide Certification (not required, but recommended) </li></ul> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES</p> <ul> <li>Assist residents with bathing </li><li>Serve residents in a manner conductive to their safety and comfort while acting within the established guidelines set forth by state licensing regulations and Marquis Place </li><li>Assist resident with dressing, personal hygiene, and grooming </li><li>Escort resident to various parts of the building as needed </li><li>Assist with meal service as needed </li><li>Assist with resident activities as instructed as needed </li><li>Maintain a safe, clean environment within the assigned duty areas </li><li>Make beds and empty trash as needed </li><li>Follow instructions given by supervisor and communication with supervisor on resident health questions/concerns as necessary </li><li>Respond to resident call lights promptly </li><li>Be tactful and courteous when dealing with residents, families, visitors, and staff </li><li>Treat residents with dignity and respect at all times </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor </li></ul> <p>REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS</p> <p>Reports to Director of Resident Care</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner for residents. </li><li>Must enjoy working with the elderly and all who associate with them. Must be able to interact with residents who are highly susceptible to common illness without exposing them additional health risks. </li><li>Must be able to work with ill, disabled elderly, emotionally upset and at times hostile people in the community. </li><li>Must be able to accept constructive criticism. </li><li>Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times and treat all residents with dignity and respect. May be required to wear a uniform. </li><li>May be asked to work flexible hours. </li><li>Employee must be responsible, dependable, and trustworthy. </li></ul>
