Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to delivering advanced, patient-centered care to ensure the best possible outcomes for both mother and child.</p> <p>The Perinatal Center focuses on managing complex maternal and fetal conditions, offering expert monitoring, diagnostics, and treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. Our team collaborates closely across specialties to support women throughout their pregnancy journey.</p> <p>Common high-risk conditions we manage include:</p> <ul> <li>Multiple gestations (twins, triplets, or more) </li><li>History of preterm or early deliveries </li><li>Recurrent pregnancy loss </li><li>Diabetes (pre-existing or gestational) </li><li>Hypertension and other cardiovascular concerns </li><li>Heart, lung, vascular, or kidney disease </li><li>Blood disorders </li><li>Fetal complications and developmental concerns </li></ul> <p>This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting patients through some of the most complex and critical pregnancies, while working in a collaborative, mission-driven healthcare environment.</p> <p>Why UnityPoint Health?</p> <p>At UnityPoint Health, you matter. We even offer pet insurance for your four-legged family members. </li><li>Early access to earned wages with Daily Pay, tuition reimbursement to help further your career and adoption assistance to help you grow your family. </li></ul> <p>With a collective goal to champion a culture of belonging where everyone feels valued and respected, we honor the ways people are unique and embrace what brings us together.</p> <p>And, we believe equipping you with support and development opportunities is a vital part of delivering an exceptional employment experience.</p> <p>Find a fulfilling career and make a difference with UnityPoint Health.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Answers questions and provides teaching as appropriate to scope and licensure or as directed by provider to patients and family members regarding health maintenance and medical illnesses. </li><li>Documents appropriate information in the patient's electronic chart; completes patient forms and requests medical records/correspondence to be scanned into the electronic health record. </li><li>Schedule referrals for patients with specialist or outpatient as requested by the provider; completes appropriate forms or requisitions needed for referrals or lab testing. </li><li>Assist provider with patient examination, procedures and emergencies. </li><li>Provide and document advice for home care of illness/condition conducting follow up phone calls regarding patient's health and progress as directed by provider. </li><li>Perform diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures. </li><li>Prepare and assist provider with patient examination, specimen collection, minor surgical procedures and treatment of the patients, including administration of medication under direct supervision of the provider as appropriate to scope and licensure. </li><li>Demonstrate knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately. </li><li>Thoroughly understand testing (lab and procedures) values and relationship to patient status with accountability to take next steps as directed, and as appropriate to scope and licensure. </li><li>Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or IA Board of Nursing approved nursing program. </li></ul> <p>License(s)/Certification(s):</p> <ul> <li>Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Previous clinical experience in women services, labor and delivery preferred. </li></ul> <p>Other:</p> <ul> <li>Level 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. </li></ul>
