This includes taking business loan applications, small business administration loan applications and performing preliminary credit analysis as well as loan portfolio administration and servicing, compliance and full understanding and sales of depository and ancillary service products. Each interaction should exceed the members' service expectations and leave the member grateful that they are banking with us. The title of Business Banker or Business Banker Sr. will be determined based on experience and qualifications.</p> <p>What will be expected of me?</p> <ul> <li>Build and grow relationships with a dedicated of book business members by asking questions to learn about their financial needs, understanding their goals, and sharing how Westerra can help them by following up through proactive outreach, phone or in-person visits. </li><li>Develop a comprehensive understanding of members' needs, based on the review and analysis of personal and business financial data gathered through relationship review and personal meetings providing integrated delivery of financial services. </li><li>Develop revenue-generating member relationships by calling on prospective or existing members, identifying prospects, suitable method of contact, and determination of their needs and appropriate products or services, including cross-market solutions </li><li>Achieve individual monthly production and growth goals for business banking deposits, fees and loans to ensure the Credit Union meets its overall financial and member experience goals. </li><li>Engage with members in all phases of the business life cycle while following policies, leveraging product knowledge and conducting needs-based conversations to identify credit, deposit, and service processing needs. </li><li>Serves as the business banking subject-matter expert and internal resource within the Credit Union. </li><li>Build relationships with community and business organizations and represents Westerra at community and business development events. </li><li>Assist with the onboarding and development of more junior team members </li><li>Consistently demonstrates the Westerra Way Experience and complies with all policies, procedures and Federal and State laws and regulations. </li><li>Maintains high level of confidentiality </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Will I have Direct Reports? No</p> <p>What am I bringing?</p> <p>Experience/Education:</p> <p>External Requirements</p> <ul> <li>2 - 4+ years' experience in business banking, including lending, business development, merchant services, depository functions and compliance </li></ul> <p>Internal Requirements</p> <ul> <li>1 - 2+ years working as a Business Banker at Westerra </li><li>Demonstration of skills and abilities listed </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to understand and respond to business member needs, as well as consistently make recommendations to members on Westerra products that will fit their financial needs/goals/values </li><li>Ability to drive sales through a consultative approach. </li><li>Ability to analyze financial statements and metrics to influence business members' decisioning </li><li>Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company </li><li>Strong verbal and interpersonal communication </li><li>Attention to detail with minimal mistakes </li><li>Demonstration of problem-solving skills </li><li>Ability to navigate with ease and efficiency through key Westerra Systems/Sites </li><li>Understanding of processes, procedures and guidelines and resources for the role </li><li>Can be accountable for the completion of assigned tasks and projects with supervision </li><li>Uses judgement with supervision </li><li>Understands the basic business line and operating environment </li><li>Able to handle problems that are not particularly difficult nor complex </li></ul> <p>What is the work environment like, and are there physical requirements for this role?</p> <ul> <li>Mon-Fri: On location in the branch </li><li>Off-site at business development or community events; may require weekend and/or evening shifts offset by branch schedule </li><li>Office environment </li><li>Works primarily at a desk </li><li>Ability to lift 25 pounds </li><li>Travel Requirements: This role requires regular travel to branches within the region </li></ul> <p>Salary: in addition to the starting hourly rate of $22.56 - $41.00, this role is also eligible for Westerra's self-funding reward plan.
