<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Paraprofessional/Early Childhood Paraprofessional</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>6/17/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>ALLEN EARLY LEARNING ACADEMY</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Until Filled</p> <p>District:</p> <p>  Plymouth-Canton Community Schools  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>POSITION: GSRP Certified Paraprofessional</p> <p>LOCATION: P-CCS GSRP Preschool</p> <p>HOURS: Monday-Thursday 8:00-3:30, Friday 8:00-11:00 (31 hours)</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY: Assist with providing high quality preschool education to students</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>An Associate degree in Early Childhood or Child Development or Child Development Associate (CDA), or be enrolled in a CDA program is required </li><li>Experience working in an early childhood setting preferred </li><li>Ability to work in cooperative and collegial manner with GSRP Lead Teacher and Supervisor </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work with parents and children </li><li>Ability to maintain good rapport with staff/students </li><li>Knowledge of the Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Prekindergarten </li><li>Yearly CPR/AED and first aid certification required </li><li>Negative TB test required </li><li>Strong communication skills </li><li>Effective organizational skills </li><li>Regular and reliable attendance </li></ul> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Complete professional development required by State Licensing </li><li>Attend and engage in continuous professional development </li><li>Coordinate with GSRP Lead Teacher and assist in planning instruction and engagement of preschool </li><li>Assist/accompany teacher on home visits, field trips, and any other out of classroom learning opportunities </li><li>Co-Implementation of the Teaching Strategies curriculum </li><li>Work with small groups of students throughout the daily schedule, under the teacher's direction </li><li>Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, and emergency situations (i.e. tornado drills, fire drills, etc.) </li><li>Engage in activities with children at their physical level </li><li>Help create an overall supportive, nurturing, and strength-based atmosphere </li><li>Assist with arrival and dismissal of children </li><li>Assist with and participate in family style meal service and clean up after food is served </li><li>Assist with the preparation and cleanup of room </li><li>Bending, lifting and overhead work may be required </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>This description is intended to describe the essential job functions, the general supplemental functions and the essential requirements for the performance of this job. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs such as boxes of books. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people.
