Join us at Sidus Space to be part of something extraordinary and help shape the future of space access!</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Lead CMM Programmer/Quality Inspector is responsible for overseeing programming, setup and operation of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using PC-DMIS software, as well as manual inspection of complex tight tolerance Aerospace manufactured parts. Participates in NCR initiation and disposition.</p> <p>Essential Duties/Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assign work to Inspectors according to production priorities and be a first responder and point of contact for any issues that block or stop production. </li><li>Solve issues or get the right resource to provide solutions to identified issues. </li><li>Work closely with Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Planning and Quality to address constraints and determine priorities to ensure timely and efficient execution of production requirements. </li><li>Work closely with Estimator to provide programming/inspection quotes. </li><li>Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications and Customer requirements utilizing the best inspection method (CMM and/or manual inspection methods). </li><li>Review work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements. </li><li>Review drawings or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences. </li><li>Assist Manufacturing to determine Inspection frequency to ensure first-time quality. </li><li>Review data and Customer/Industry workmanship standards to determine requirements for inspection and compliance. </li><li>Correlate and record inspection data to document in the required format. </li><li>Properly identify items with detailed acceptance-rejection status. </li><li>Work closely with CNC machinists to complete inspections and support the team to meet customer deadlines. </li><li>Accurately fill out AS9102 forms, including First Article (FAIR) reports/customer required data packages. </li><li>Compare physical characteristics of materials or products to specifications or standards. </li><li>Ensure inspection and measurement equipment repair or maintenance needs are addressed; responsible for tracking and calibration of inspection and measurement devices. </li><li>Treat all coworkers with respect and dignity ensuring a collaborative culture is continually developed and maintained. </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED/equivalent </li><li>5+ years of relevant job experience </li><li>Proven job experience in the Operation of Coordinate Measuring Machines with PC-DIMIS software. </li><li>Proven job experience in manual inspection using calibers, mics, MicroView, thread gages, height gages, etc. </li><li>Strong knowledge of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) </li><li>Knowledge and experience with AS9100D Quality Management System; hands-on experience with AS9102. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Ability to collaborate with many different teams/individuals to reach a common goal by building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation, maintaining positive and professional relationships. </li><li>Flexibility to work occasional overtime to support projects/programs. </li><li>Ability to read, interpret and apply various technical data such as prints, models, specifications and utilize specialized inspection and hand tools. </li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, </li><li>Solution-oriented while committed to consistency and process. </li><li>Ability to work under minimal direction while keeping within the limitations of designated authorities, exercising regular use of good judgment. </li><li>Ability to utilize computer systems to generate spreadsheets and presentations as well as access databases and other quality documents. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to present information, concepts, and proposals with a wide range of audiences at all levels, technical or non-technical individuals both internal and external to the company. </li><li>Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. </li></ul> <p>Technical Skills</p> <ul> <li>Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) </li><li>InspectionXpert </li><li>Getting Information - Researching, observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. </li><li>Processing Information - Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data. </li><li>Interpret documentation from purchase orders, contracts, customer flow-downs, etc. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Requires repetitive movement, walking, and standing. </li><li>Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. </li><li>Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. </li></ul> <p>Drug-Free Workplace</p> <p>Sidus Space is a Drug-Free Workplace where post-offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria are met as outlined in our policies</p> <p>Total Rewards and Perks</p> <p>At Sidus Space, we ask a lot of our team members, which is why we give so much in return.
