<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Onondaga Community College is accepting applications from individuals qualified to teach Mathematics courses.</p> <p>Major Responsibilities:</p> <p>College-level teaching of Mathematics courses ranging from intermediate algebra through differential equations and statistics.</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and present lectures; </li><li>Meet with students as needed to answer questions; </li><li>Respond to student queries (e.g. email or voice mail) as needed, in a reasonably timely manner; </li><li>Write, administer, and grade all student assignments and exams; </li><li>Compute grades and submit them on time. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in mathematics or a related field (from a regionally accredited college or university) with at least 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) in graduate-level courses strongly related to mathematics, at least 6 of which are graduate-level mathematics. </li><li>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: </li><li>Teaching experience in a community college including instruction at the developmental level. </li><li>A strong record of academic excellence complimented by demonstrated teaching effectiveness with students who have widely varying mathematical backgrounds and learning styles. </li><li>Proven ability with the use of technology to enhance learning is essential. Additionally, the preferred candidate must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written English. </li><li>Ability to interact effectively with undergraduate students in a dynamic and diverse college environment. </li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and another language will con considered. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Adjunct rate of pay for the 25/26 academic year is $1,483/credit hour.
