<p>Hiring Department</p> <p>Heart of Missouri Regional Professional Development Center</p> <p>College of Education and Human Development</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>PURPOSE:</p> <p>The purpose of the Leadership Development Specialist is to help support a sustainable leadership development continuum that provides comprehensive, relevant, and engaging learning experiences and support for all Missouri school leaders. High-quality systems, informed by research, affirm that educators have significant and lasting impact on student learning. These systems draw on multiple measures of instructional and leadership practices to evaluate and support teacher and principal effectiveness.</p> <p>EXPECTED OUTCOME:</p> <p>Develop effective leaders who foster successful school communities.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Reporting:</p> <ul> <li>Report participant names, institutions, and technical assistance to DESE </li><li>Support third-party MLDS evaluations </li></ul> <p>Program Activities:</p> <ul> <li>Support DESE in leadership development </li><li>Review and revise MLDS content and activities </li></ul> <p>Training:</p> <ul> <li>Facilitate induction for new members using DESE protocols. </li><li>Lead professional learning aligned with MLDS competencies. </li><li>Visionary, Instructional, Managerial, Relational and Innovative Leadership </li></ul> <p>Planning & Collaboration:</p> <ul> <li>Engage in DESE evaluation instruments </li><li>Support Teacher of the Year programs </li><li>Collect/report data on MLDS participation, effectiveness, and impact </li><li>Recognize effective educators and support novice leaders </li><li>Assist with leadership in high-need schools and special programs (SAMs, Leadership Academy) </li><li>Sustain MLDS scope and implementation </li></ul> <p>Meetings/Conferences:</p> <ul> <li>Attend all MLDS team meetings, conferences and present at partner events as appropriate. </li></ul> <p>Travel:</p> <ul> <li>Leadership Development Specialists are expected to travel within the assigned RPDC region (Heart of Missouri region) as needed, participate in statewide administrative conferences as determined appropriate, and, to the greatest extent practical, attend statewide in-person team meetings. </li></ul> <p>Shift</p> <p>Monday-Friday</p> <p>8:00am to 5:00pm</p> <p>12 month appointment. 40 hours per week.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Applications will be selected for consideration based on the preferred qualifications:</p> <p>Education: Master's Degree</p> <p>Certification: Administrative Certification, MO Teaching Certificate</p> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Strong verbal/written communication </li><li>Effective adult learning facilitation </li><li>Collaboration for Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS) </li><li>Relevant leadership experience sharing </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>5 years building (lead or assistant) principal </li><li>3 years teaching </li></ul> <p>Anticipated Hiring Range</p> <p>Salary Range: $52,915.20 - $57,000 annually, as per grant funding</p> <p>Grade: GGS-010</p> <p>University Title: Associate Director Program/Project Operations</p> <p>Internal applicants can determine their University title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.</p> <p>Application Materials</p> <p>All applicants must include the following materials:</p> <ul> <li>Current Resume </li><li>References </li><li>Cover letter </li></ul> <p>Benefit Eligibility</p> <p>This position is eligible for University benefits.
