<p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li>Observes, monitors and persuades student compliance with the rules of conduct in all on-campus areas and in selected nearby locations. </li></ol> <ul> <li>Advises students in non-compliance situations and takes appropriate action in cases of serious violation. </li><li>(Appropriate action is action that best fits a particular situation. It may be determined by the principal or assistant principal or by the campus aide acting in compliance with school policy. In different situations, appropriate action may be: 1. Advising student and non-students of policy; 2. Reporting to administration. 3. Escorting students and non-students to the office; 4. Calling for assistance.) </li><li>Observes and monitors gatherings and movements of groups of students for possible infractions of policy and takes appropriate action. </li><li>Monitors student classroom behavior in the absence of teacher. </li><li>Participates as requested in parent-teacher conferences. </li><li>Identifies students in non-compliance situations and takes appropriate action (action may include: advisement, calling for assistance, recording and/or detention). </li><li>Works extracurricular activities (i.e. athletic events, dances, graduations). </li><li>Complies with state-approved Code of Ethics of the education Profession and upholds and </li></ul> <p>enforces rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local,</p> <p>state and federal regulations.</p> <ul> <li>Articulates and facilitates the implementation of the mission and values of the Dulce </li></ul> <p>Independent Schools</p> <ul> <li>Safeguards confidentiality of privileged information. </li><li>Prepares and maintains accurate and complete records and reports as required by law, state </li></ul> <p>directives, district policy, and administrative regulations.</p> <ul> <li>Shares the responsibility for the supervision and care of district inventory, proper and safe </li></ul> <p>use of facilities, equipment and supplies, and reports safety hazards promptly.</p> <ul> <li>Maintains professional relationships and works cooperatively with employees, the </li></ul> <p>community and other professionals.</p> <ul> <li>Maintains professional competence through individual and staff training, in-service </li></ul> <p>educational activities and self-selected professional growth activities.</p> <ul> <li>Attends and/or conducts staff meetings and participates on committees within area of </li></ul> <p>responsibility.</p> <ul> <li>Performs other tasks related to area of responsibilities as requested or assigned by an </li></ul> <p>immediate supervisor.</p> <ul> <li>Patrols school facilities ( e.g. grounds, roads, buildings, adjacent areas, parking lots etc.) for </li></ul> <p>purpose of providing administrative visibility, maintaining security/deterring crime, and</p> <p>building relationships with students and staff.</p> <ul> <li>Prepares written materials (discipline referrals, student passes, accident and activity reports, </li></ul> <p>etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying</p> <p>information.</p> <ul> <li>Provides traffic and parking control for the purpose of maintaining efficient traffic flow. </li><li>Responds to emergency situations (fights, injuries, accidents, suspicious activities etc.) </li></ul> <p>for the purpose of addressing immediate safety concerns.</p>
