As a supplier of one third of catalysts into the automotive industry globally, we are playing our part in creating a future for tomorrow.</p> <p>This position's primary responsibilities will be coordinating two critical EHS programs, Ergonomics and Industrial Hygiene. This position will work to develop and sustain each program to ensure they support the employee as an Industrial Athlete. This position spends most of the time in a manufacturing setting, interacting with employees and will be expected to make recommendations on ergonomic and exposure improvements from an individual and operational perspective (i.e. adjustments to equipment). Reporting into the Plant EHS Manager, the holder provides expertise in safe work practices, ergonomic principles and the interaction of the human body with machinery, injury prevention activities (such as stretches and body mechanics), and incident intervention efforts.</p> <p>Your responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Uses experience and knowledge to assist in the evaluation of employee needs, identify areas for ergonomic improvement, and proactively develop programs to improve employee well-being. </li><li>Develops and/or partners with site management to implement wellness programs, including stretching and pre-work warm-up sessions, supporting employees as Industrial Athletes. </li><li>Work closely with plant operators to understand their tasks, identify risks/concerns, and collaboratively develop improvement plans. </li><li>Own and administer JM's Human Tech program, including performing Workstation/Task ergonomic reviews and ongoing risk assessments. </li><li>Participates in new hire on-boarding training, promoting programs described above. </li><li>Accurately documents trainings, employee participation, and forecasts needs and schedules, including business cases for ergonomic improvement projects. </li><li>Collaborates and works closely with onsite EHS professionals, supporting vendors, site leadership, HR, Security, supervisors & managers. </li><li>Other duties as assigned, including contributing to the site's overall EHS program, initiatives, and team needs. Provides practical support on matters related to EHS across a wide range of disciplines. Demonstrated a 'hands on' approach to EHS developing a trusted relationship with Plant/Site personnel </li><li>Plays an active role in EHS reporting and data analysis in line with legal and JM requirements. Identify trends on leading and lagging indicators to help inform future improvement activities. </li><li>Provides training and coaching to Plant employees across a number of EHS disciplines. </li><li>Deploys EHS programs, tools and campaigns aimed at improving EHS performance. </li><li>Assists in accident investigations helping to collect evidence and data relevant to each incident. </li><li>Is a role model for EHS, fully delivering on personal EHS objectives and leading by example by exhibiting the highest levels of EHS behavior. </li></ul> <p>Requirements for the role:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene or EHS field - Preferred </li><li>At least 2-5 years of experience in an industrial setting (manufacturing preferred) </li><li>Prior experience in applying ergonomic programs preferred </li><li>Industrial Hygiene program administration preferred. </li><li>Knowledge and use of computer software & creating/maintaining spreadsheets </li><li>Practiced in program coordination, scheduling, and overall organization </li><li>Ability to work within all levels of the organization - from plant floor to Senior Leadership </li><li>Ability to speak publicly, in front of large groups </li><li>Ability to provide confident directions and recommendations </li><li>Currently certified or willing to be certified in CPR/First Aid/AED </li><li>Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred </li></ul> <p>How you will be rewarded:</p> <p>We offer a competitive compensation and JM Elements benefits package including bonus, excellent pension contributions and 20 days annual leave (varies for shift- based roles).
