<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Family and Consumer Science Teacher</p> <p>Torrington High School (Grades 9-12)</p> <p>Torrington Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Family and Consumer Science Teacher to join the faculty at Torrington High School. This position will primarily focus on delivering Child Care and Early Childhood Education courses through our innovative High School Pre-K Lab setting. The role offers students real-world, hands-on experiences while preparing them for careers in child development and related fields. Additional teaching responsibilities may include other Home Economics content areas as needed.</p> <p>Certification Requirements:</p> <p>Applicants must hold or be eligible for a valid Connecticut teaching certificate with one of the following endorsements:</p> <ul> <li>#045 Home Economics, Grades PK-12 </li><li>Or other appropriate certification as determined by the district </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience teaching child development or early childhood education in a school-based or lab setting </li><li>Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum design </li><li>Ability to supervise and guide high school students working with young children in a lab environment </li><li>Flexibility to support a broad range of Family and Consumer Science offerings </li><li>Strong classroom management and communication skills </li></ul> <p>TRANSFORM TORRINGTON TOGETHER</p> <p>At Torrington Public Schools we believe the uniqueness of each individual contributes to the success of all our students.
