Do you have a passion for assisting young people? The City of Olathe is looking for a dynamic and experienced Group Fitness Instructor to lead youth fitness classes at our community center. While the ideal candidate will be able to lead classes for all ages, we are seeking an individual whose primary focus would be leading fitness classes for youths between the ages of 8 and 15. Our Group Fitness Instructors bring energy, creativity, and a passion for fitness to our classes, creating a supportive and engaging environment for all participants. This role requires a commitment to safety while fostering inclusiveness, continuous personal growth, and an active lifestyle.</p> <p>STARTING HOURLY PAY RANGE: $21.75 - $24.08 based on experience</p> <p>For more details, review the full job details and requirements below.</p> <p>The Fitness Instructor for the Community Center leads a variety of fitness classes, including but not limited to strength training, cardio conditioning, aqua fitness, yoga, cycle, mobility, and stretch & recovery. They are responsible for ensuring a safe, effective, and enjoyable experience for all participants.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Programs and facilitates fitness classes that cater to a diverse community, ensuring all sessions are engaging, safe and effective; fosters a motivating atmosphere, encouraging class participants of all fitness levels to achieve their personal health and wellness goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains a safe exercise environment by monitoring participants, providing modifications as necessary, and adhering to all health and safety protocols; ensures fitness equipment is used correctly; reports any maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.</p> </li><li> <p>Stays current with fitness trends and continuing education through workshops, certifications, and training sessions.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.</p> <p>Experience: Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, and a positive, motivational attitude.</p> <p>Licenses & Certifications: Must have nationally accredited Certification in Fitness programming or specified format of interest. Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications are required.</p> <p>Environmental or Physical Demands: Ability to stay focused in a bustling environment, and to lift at least 50 lbs.</p>
