The Release Manager will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of releases, from planning and execution to documentation and post-release follow-up. This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills, as the Release Manager will work closely with development, quality assurance, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality releases. A key aspect of this role is driving improvements in our development processes, particularly in establishing and enforcing CI/CD practices, to prevent surprises and ensure smooth releases.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Release Planning and Coordination:</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and maintain a comprehensive release schedule, coordinating major and minor releases across different environments (e.g., development, staging, production).</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with leads and development teams to define release scope, objectives, and deliverables.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate release planning meetings and ensure all stakeholders are aligned on release timelines and dependencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and manage release risks, dependencies, roadblocks, and escalate issues as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Release Execution:</p> </li><li> <p>Manage the release process, ensuring adherence to established procedures and best practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate the activities of development, QA, and operations teams during the release cycle.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the build, packaging, and deployment of releases, ensuring quality and stability.</p> </li><li> <p>Troubleshoot and resolve release-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure proper sanity testing is conducted before each release.</p> </li><li> <p>Documentation and Communication:</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure that developers provide the necessary release documentation and drive them to complete it.</p> </li><li> <p>Create and maintain release documentation, including release notes, deployment plans, and rollback procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate release plans, status, and progress to stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a centralized release calendar and communicate release schedules to all relevant teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Process Improvement and CI/CD:</p> </li><li> <p>Define, implement, and enforce a robust release management process to ensure consistent and predictable releases.</p> </li><li> <p>Drive the adoption of CI/CD best practices to automate and streamline the release process.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with development teams to establish and improve CI/CD pipelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify opportunities to improve release efficiency, quality, and reliability.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the release management process.</p> </li><li> <p>Post-Release Activities:</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct post-release reviews to evaluate the success of releases and identify areas for improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor release performance and gather feedback from stakeholders.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate post-release support and troubleshooting.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. </li><li>5+ years of experience in release management, software development, or a related role. </li><li>Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and release management principles. </li><li>Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI). </li><li>Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). </li><li>Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. </li><li>Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. </li><li>Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and process improvement. </li><li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Polarion or Jira process lifestyle management tools. </li><li>Knowledge AIML or neural networks]. </li><li>Experience in an Agile development environment. </li></ul> <p>The base range is $180,000-$191,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
