This is not an exhaustive list but serves as a guide to core functions:</p> <p>Community Engagement</p> <ul> <li>Partner with the Community Engagement Manager to identify and expand non-partisan community relationships. </li><li>Cultivate connections with local businesses and civic organizations to boost visibility and support. </li><li>Solicit and analyze community feedback to enhance outreach strategies. </li></ul> <p>Voter Education</p> <ul> <li>Create brochures, flyers, presentations, and digital content to educate the public about elections and voting procedures. </li><li>Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager to maintain clear, consistent, and timely messaging across platforms. </li><li>Manage and update the outreach section of the agency's website. </li><li>Deliver presentations and training during outreach events. </li></ul> <p>Event Planning & Representation</p> <ul> <li>Plan and coordinate mid-scale public events such as National Voter Registration Day and poll worker appreciation initiatives. </li><li>Represent BVRE at outreach events, tabling opportunities, and community meetings. </li><li>Track outreach activity and report on engagement metrics and outcomes. </li></ul> <p>Program Support & Special Initiatives</p> <ul> <li>Support special projects including the "I Voted" sticker contest, Adopt a Polling Location, and poll worker recruitment. </li><li>Research best practices to enhance and expand outreach programming. </li><li>Assist in maintaining a centralized repository of outreach materials and resources. </li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Education, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field preferred. </li><li>At least two (2) years or more of relevant experience in public engagement, community outreach, or communications, ideally in a government or nonprofit setting. </li><li>OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Exceptional communication and public speaking skills with a talent for engaging diverse audiences. </li><li>Strong organizational and project management skills. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media tools, and content management systems. </li><li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. </li><li>Valid South Carolina driver's license required. </li></ul>
