<p>The New Programs Engineering team works at the front-end of vehicle design and development, working in an iterative environment to study, simulate, build, and prove Teslas future generation of vehicles. This position will interact with many cross-functional teams from the Design, Vehicle Engineering, and Powertrain Engineering teams in creating different prototypes for engineering development. This is an electronic design engineering position where product design expertise and a fundamental, first principles approach to problem solving are far more important than extensive project engineering or automotive industry specific experience.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ownership of harness designs for prototype and early phase vehicle programs, including electrical schematics, BOM, harness drawings and system diagrams. Taking design from concept through prototype vehicle build</p> </li><li> <p>Document build/rework instructions for complex vehicle wire harnesses</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with various engineering teams to integrate new electrical subsystems into prototype vehicles</p> </li><li> <p>Support firmware and technician teams debugging and bringing up electrical systems in prototype vehicles</p> </li><li> <p>Design PCB hardware to support integration of electrical subsystems</p> </li><li> <p>DegreeElectrical Engineering or equivalent experience</p> </li><li> <p>A minimum of 2 years of experience in a product development environment</p> </li><li> <p>Expertise in Automotive communication networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)</p> </li><li> <p>Wire harness design and build experience including knowledge of appropriate tools, materials, and best practices</p> </li><li> <p>Fundamental understanding of PCB design and experience with PCB design software and circuit simulation tools, including Altium and/or LTspice</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge and experience in designing for environmental constraints (temperature, humidity, and vibration), regulatory compliance and product debug (EMC/EMI, ESD, transients, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workloads, and meet tight delivery timelines</p> </li><li> <p>Detail-oriented personality with effective documentation and reporting</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communicator, resourceful, and mindful of time management</p> </li></ul>
