<p>SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS</p> <p>Assist Perform basic troubleshooting, lubricate machinery, change parts, or perform other routine machinery maintenance.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Assist Millwright in daily duties </li><li>Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled </li><li>Clean machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment </li><li>Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists </li><li>Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications </li><li>Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment </li><li>Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures </li><li>Participate in action planning process </li><li>Track, retrieve and record all parts and repairs using work orders & maintenance management systems as required </li><li>All other duties assigned by supervisor </li><li>Keep work and surrounding area safe, clean and free of debris </li><li>Under supervision, inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs </li><li>Under supervision, reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work </li><li>Under supervision, start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems </li><li>Under supervision, install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications </li><li>Clean workstation and surrounding areas making sure it is clean and free of debris </li></ul> <p>SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma/GED </li><li>Understand and follow oral or written instructions issued by supervisors </li><li>Ability to exert muscle force repeatedly or continuously over time </li><li>Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs </li><li>Ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. </li><li>Ability to watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure a machine is working properly </li><li>Ability to work well as part of a team </li><li>Ability to complete production tallies, downtime tallies and daily reports as required </li><li>Possess excellent reasoning and mathematical skills </li><li>Possess knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance </li></ul> <p>SAFETY</p> <ul> <li>Follow all area/machine center specific safety regulations </li><li>Wear all required personal protective equipment: hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc…as required </li><li>Do not enter restricted areas </li><li>Request assistance when a task exceeds individual knowledge </li><li>Report immediately to your supervisor or any supervisor any piece of equipment that is unsafe or functioning improperly to eliminate unsafe conditions </li><li>Visually inspect equipment and area before starting/operating </li><li>Use Standard Lockout Procedures when appropriate for machine centers </li><li>Use proper lifting technique by pushing, pulling and lifting with your legs and not your back </li><li>Never approach a saw while it is still running </li><li>Follow all other safety regulations as set forth by the company </li></ul> <p>COMPANY BENEFITS</p> <p>We are excited about your interest in a lumber manufacturing career.
