<p>Job Description:</p> <p>POSITION FUNCTION</p> <p>The Technical Specialist for Student Central is responsible for performing a variety of technical functions in support of student needs and the College's mission.</p> <p>POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Conducts batch processing of student communications using Colleague Communication Management tools to effectively communicate with students as needed </li><li>Process immunization records </li><li>Responsible for immunization record reporting and follow-up </li><li>Understand all functionality and process of the Campus Card office and fill in as needed </li><li>Ensures Student Central website information is correct and up to date </li><li>Assist in the Financial Aid Service Center (FASC) as determined by Student Central supervisors </li><li>Assists students with the financial aid process, from start to finish, aligned with best practices in customer service. </li><li>Confers with students and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, answers to questions regarding goals and policy interpretations; refers to appropriate department or person when unable to respond. </li><li>Performs continued research/training on best practices, related to financial aid, including changes in local, state and federal regulations as well as continual learning in the area. </li><li>Understands and updates the Raspberry Pi monitor system </li><li>Fixes pointer issues in Colleague </li><li>Commits indexed OnBase records </li><li>Monitors the texting/chat platform, as needed </li><li>Determines eligibility for Lazer Card transfers (Financial aid funds) </li><li>Supports the Call Center and Front Desk as needed </li><li>Other duties as assigned within scope of responsibilities. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Associate Degree from a regionally accredited college or university or foreign equivalency.</p> </li><li> <p>At least 3 years of experience working in a high paced customer service-related environment where multi-tasking is necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced degrees can substitute for years of experience at a 2:1 ratio. (Ex. A Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of customer service is acceptable).</p> </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Advanced level computer skills, including proficiency with Ellucian's Colleague and MS Word and Excel are preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and another language will be considered.</p> </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Strong oral and written communication skills </li><li>Ability to develop positive and effective working relationships within the College's administrative and academic departments </li><li>Advanced level computer skills, including proficiency with Ellucian's Colleague and MS Word and Excel are preferred </li><li>Ability to learn about and use the tools necessary to support the financial aid needs of students </li><li>Requires exceptional human relation skills to relay information, exercise patience when dealing with students and staff, resolve confrontations, and convey a positive image for the Financial Aid Service Center and OCC </li><li>Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques and the ability to manage stressful situations </li><li>Working knowledge (or willingness to train) of smart classroom and classroom AV and computer equipment </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>CSEA position grade 7, non tested civil service position. Anticipated salary is 48,528.
