<p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree and Massachusetts DESE ESL Licensure </li><li>Educational training beyond the Bachelor's degree with prior teaching experience </li></ul> <p>Reporting Relationships:Reports to and Supervised by Building Principal and Director of Curriculum, ELA/Social Studies</p> <p>General Responsibilities:Provides maximum educational opportunities for limited English proficient students who enter school so that they may access the curriculum and achieve facility in written and spoken English.</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates knowledge of English Language Development (ELD) instruction. </li><li>Develops curricula and designs instruction based upon the Massachusetts English Language Proficiency Benchmarks and Outcomes. </li><li>Maintains currency on methods, trends and materials in ELD instruction. </li><li>Supports sheltered English immersion classroom teachers. </li><li>Follows all policies and procedures as outlined in the district ELL Handbook. </li><li>Meets monthly with ELD department and the Director of Instructional Services. </li><li>Meets monthly with the ELD department. </li><li>Attends one building faculty meeting per month. </li><li>Participates in professional and educational activities that will enhance professional growth. </li><li>Collaborates with the ELD Coordinator and the Director of Instructional Services to plan professional development offerings for general education teachers. </li><li>Collaborates with the ELD department and the Office of Instructional Services to update the ELL Handbook </li><li>Maintains communication with principals, ELD personnel, and Director of Instructional Services regarding ELD activities (assessment, professional development, program/materials adoption, student needs). </li><li>Assumes responsibility for all additional professional duties as may be assigned by the Building Principal and /or Director of Instructional Services. </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment:Ten months per year. Salary and Benefits as per FEA contract.</p>
