<p>Job Goal: To assist the Library Media Specialist or Technology staff in operating an effective library-media center at a Somerville public elementary school.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work as a member of the library and school based team </li><li>Good people skills </li><li>Good organizational skills </li><li>Effective student management skills </li><li>Excellent technology skills </li><li>One year of post high school education preferred </li><li>Prior library experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Managing the Circulation database </li><li>Assisting students with the use of laptops and computers </li><li>Maintaining organization of print and non-print materials and resources </li><li>Maintaining a positive customer service attitude in the library-media center </li><li>Preparing materials for circulation </li><li>Maintaining adequate records regarding use of materials and resources </li><li>Processing purchase orders and receiving new materials and resources </li><li>Maintaining an accurate inventory </li><li>Maintaining technology equipment </li><li>Attending any training as specified by Administration </li><li>Assisting the Library Media Specialist and Building Principal as directed </li><li>All other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment:</p> <ul> <li>Part Time / Up to 19 hours per week </li><li>Schedule School Year </li><li>Monday - Friday </li><li>Schedule to be coordinated with K-12 Library Media Supervisor </li></ul> <p>Position Reports to: Building Principal and the K-12 Supervisor of Library/Media Services</p> <p>The Somerville Public Schools does not discriminate in its programs, facilities, or employment or educational opportunities on the basis of race, color, age, religion, disability, pregnancy, home status, marital/civil union status, sex/gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, citizenship status, place of birth, national origin, ancestry, cultural identity, genetics or military status, and does not tolerate any form of retaliation, or bias-based intimidation, threat or harassment that demeans individuals' dignity or interferes with their ability to learn or work.</p>
