The Liver Transplant Team at Cleveland Clinic is comprised of surgeons, liver transplant physicians, coordinators, nurses, social workers and a vast network of people and resources to make the liver transplant process as smooth as possible. Also known as "scrub techs," Surgical Technologists play an essential role in ensuring patient safety and supporting surgeons and registered nurses throughout every phase of a procedure. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced surgical environment while making a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and caregivers each day.</p> <p>Our Weekend Flex Program in the Liver Transplant team offers an excellent opportunity for flexibility to enjoy personal time, all while providing quality patient care on the weekends. With this schedule, you will work two 12-hour shifts every weekend and one during the week. Weekend shift options start at 7:00PM on Fridays and end at 7:30AM on Mondays. Serving in this role allows you to be with loved ones, fulfill life responsibilities, take care of children and complete anything else that may interfere with a typical weekday workload. Even more, Cleveland Clinic offers 36 hours but will pay you for 44 hours. You also gain full-time status and all our included benefits. Come be part of supportive healthcare culture in which you can grow, develop and continue caring for the community.</p> <p>A caregiver in this position works 7:00am to 7:30pm on Saturday and Sunday as well as one weekday.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li>Set up sterile table, assuring appropriate supplies, drugs and equipment are available. </li><li>Perform scrub functions. </li><li>Participate with RN in counting all sponges, instruments and other supplies during the surgical procedure. </li><li>Assists in draping and gowning patients. </li><li>Assure aseptic condition is maintained by the scrubbed surgical team throughout the procedure. </li><li>Provide for patient safety by actively participating in the intraop "timeout." </li><li>Collect, identify and label specimens removed during surgical procedures and give specimens to circulator for disposition per surgeon's instructions. </li><li>Coordinate surgical and clinical schedules as needed. </li><li>Assist with outpatient clinic flow, provide information to patients and family, coordinate outpatient procedure room cases and supplies and support marketing and practice development as needed. </li><li>Assist with orientation of new hires. </li><li>Answer patient phone calls, gathers information and relay information to provider as needed. </li><li>Scribe for provider in outpatient clinics. </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) OR completion of a Military Surgical Technology Program OR Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) OR Certified Tech in Surgery (TS-C) through the National Center for Competency Training (NCCT) </li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.</p> </li><li> <p>Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.</p> </li><li> <p>Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.</p> </li><li> <p>Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.</p> </li></ul> <p>Personal Protective Equipment:</p> <ul> <li>Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures. </li></ul> <p>Pay Range</p> <p>Minimum hourly: $25.25</p> <p>Maximum hourly: $34.15</p> <p>The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
