This is a full-time, 9 month, tenure-track appointment.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop instructional material related to the area assigned. </li><li>Implement curriculum in accordance with School of Nursing philosophy and organizing framework. Maintain all records related to the specified assignment. </li><li>Assist with review, evaluation, and development of the curriculum. </li><li>Select and implement learning activities for assigned students. </li><li>Participate in academic advisement activities. </li><li>Participate in the orientation of faculty. </li><li>Engage in public service and continuing education activities which promote personal and professional development. </li><li>Initiate and/or participate in research activities. Actively participate in faculty development activities. </li><li>Share responsibilities for peer review. </li><li>Actively participate in school and departmental meetings and university-wide committees. </li><li>Assume responsibilities for being prepared to make sound judgments in matters regarding academic policies. </li><li>Share responsibilities for assisting with student extracurricular activities. </li><li>Participate in tutoring activities. </li><li>Assist in the learning resource lab in the assigned course. </li><li>Participate in the preparation of all tests in the assigned course. </li><li>Attend and/or review all lectures to apply principles and concepts in clinical settings. </li><li>Attend all faculty team meetings, support group norms, and raise issues as needed. </li><li>Participate in total program evaluation. </li><li>Act as a resource person for specific area of expertise as needed. </li></ul> <p>Additionally, faculty assigned clinical teaching responsibilities should:</p> <ul> <li>Develop clinical instruction plans as assigned. </li><li>Select learning experiences to meet clinical objectives and individual needs of students. </li><li>Review and evaluate clinical learning and performance tools jointly with other instructors at the end of each semester. </li><li>Submit to course leader test materials related to specific area of instruction. </li><li>Maintain continuous communication with clinical agency personnel to facilitate student learning experiences. </li><li>Observe and evaluate the performance of assigned students. </li><li>Keep students informed of their progress. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>To teach in the undergraduate program, applicants must possess a master's degree in nursing and current clinical experience. To teach in the Graduate program, applicants must possess an earned Doctorate in nursing or a related field and a master's degree in Nursing. Previous teaching experience and record of scholarly accomplishments preferred. Certification in a specialty area is preferred (including but not limited to) Family Primary Care NP, Adult Health, Pediatric Nursing, and Women's Health.
