<p>Highly skilled Tool and Die Specialists who have experience with performing preventative maintenance and repairs on automotive dies.</p> <p>The Tool and Die Specialist will support the High Pressure Die Cast Department, maintaining the dies to meet production standards and goals in a timely manner. We are looking for candidates who are shift flexible and available to work overtime, based on business needs.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain die PM system, including detailed work instructions and manage on schedule completion of PM activities</p> </li><li> <p>Troubleshoot casting issues associated with the die troubleshooting procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare die preparation check sheets and trial procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain die spare parts lists and ensure parts are set up and in stock prior to start of production</p> </li><li> <p>Follow die cleaning method and adherence to schedule</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and implement proactive systems to achieve consistent improvement in casting quality</p> </li><li> <p>Support development of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for production dies to identify critical risks and develop appropriate control plans</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in production of and maintaining dies producing structural aluminum die castings</p> </li><li> <p>Hands on experience maintaining, modifying, and repairing dies</p> </li><li> <p>Work efficiently and productively in independent and team settings</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate clearly using written and verbal skills</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail</p> </li><li> <p>Fluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)</p> </li><li> <p>Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day </li><li>Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain </li><li>Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs </li><li>Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts </li><li>Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day </li><li>Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures </li><li>Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing </li><li>Potential exposure to confined spaces, elevated heat and hazardous materials </li><li>Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, arm protection, hearing protection and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines </li></ul>
