Transwest is the place for you!</p> <p>Transwest is searching for an HR professional with deep transportation industry knowledge, specifically related to Department of Transportation compliance. With over 100 drivers subject to DOT regulations across multiple business units and states, this position requires creative thinking and a collaborative approach. The HR Coordinator serves as the subject matter expert for DOT compliance while also assisting the HR team in all other functional areas.</p> <p>WE OFFER A FULL BENEFITS PACKAGE FOR ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES INCLUDING:</p> <ul> <li>Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance </li><li>Life (Voluntary and Employer Paid) and Disability Insurance </li><li>401(K) with company match beginning with your first contribution. </li><li>HSA and/or FSA, as applicable </li><li>Paid Time Off, Sick Time, and Company Paid Holidays </li><li>Employee Car Discount Program </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Actively engage with managers and drivers subject to DOT compliance regulations. </li><li>Coordinate the completion of the driver qualification packet with managers, employees, and third-party administrator. </li><li>Maintain expiring DOT items list and collect all updated items from employees to submit to third-party administrator. </li><li>Complete annual driver qualification packet updates including facilitating the collection of motor vehicle records for all drivers. </li><li>Schedule drivers for DOT medical card recertification appointments. </li><li>Coordinate random DOT drug and alcohol testing each quarter for all business units. </li><li>Maintain Federal Motor Carriers Administration Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse logins for all business units. </li><li>Interpret complex inspection violations and advise stakeholders on necessary corrections. </li><li>Generate quarterly reporting for managers whose departments are subject to DOT compliance regulations. </li><li>Provide support for the Human Resources Director and HRBP's. </li><li>Assist in functional areas of HR as needed including but not limited to, ADA, leave of absence, unemployment inquiries, benefits administration, performance management, and workers' compensation. </li><li>Answer and screen phone calls, as needed. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Requires frequent sitting for prolonged periods of time in an office setting. </li><li>Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. </li><li>Normal range of hearing and vision. </li><li>Ability to communicate by providing verbal feedback in a professional manner. </li><li>Ability to analyze data and input into the computer. </li><li>Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. </li><li>Occasional stooping and bending. </li><li>Occasional travel to other locations required. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED equivalent. </li><li>Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Must have basic knowledge of DOT compliance and FMCSRs. </li><li>Must have basic knowledge of human resource administration. </li><li>Understanding of Paylocity or another payroll software program. </li><li>Exercise a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality, including abiding by all HIPPA protection policies. </li><li>Ability to work with all levels of employees. </li><li>Ability to work with multiple priorities. </li><li>Ability to represent the company in a professional manner. </li><li>2-3 years working as an HR Assistant or similar role preferred. </li><li>Ability to successfully pass a General Abilities Assessment and Post-offer background check, physical and drug screening. </li></ul> <p>JOB DETAILS:</p> <ul> <li>Type: Hourly </li><li>Compensation Range: $25.00 - $28.00 </li><li>Reports To: HR Director </li><li>Shift: 1st </li><li>Closing Date: Open until filled </li></ul>
