<p>The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational Vocational Instructor A/ B (Voc. A/B) to work at the Wrentham Developmental Center providing guidance to individuals with intellectual disabilities maximizing each person's potential. The position is part of a team of Vocational staff who work together to provide volunteer and work opportunities to individuals residing at Wrentham Developmental Center (WDC). The Vocational A/B is responsible for daily operations and oversight of individuals within vocational settings through the Resident Work Program within the facility, as well as community-based opportunities both paid and volunteer.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities: (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive.)</p> <ul> <li>Assign individualized objective and appropriate work assignments created for various employment programs. </li><li>Work alongside individuals at various work sites providing direction and support. </li><li>Assess consumer's needs along with the instructional needs of individuals and determine the methods of instruction to be used. </li><li>Ensure engagement of meaningful activities to meet individual's vocational and day program goals </li><li>Participate in data collection and documentation on progress. - Program development based on Individual assessments and Individual Service Plan (ISP) data. </li><li>Track and complete assessment data on production and attendance as necessary. </li><li>Facilitate pre-vocational skill groups. Instruct participants in job development skills through curriculum and group activities. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Basic computer knowledge needed. </li><li>Prior experience working in a vocational program setting. </li><li>Experience with assessments/documentation. </li></ul> <p>Schedule Information:</p> <p>Full Time - 40 Hours</p> <p>Working: Monday through Friday - 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.</p> <p>Days Off: Saturday and Sunday</p> <p>Flexibility required operating pre-vocational groups during non-work hours</p> <p>Agency Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age; </li><li>Must possess current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License </li></ul> <p>About the Department of Developmental Services:</p> <p>The mission of the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is to create innovative and genuine opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder to participate fully and contribute meaningfully to their communities as valued members. Education toward degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed. </li></ul> <p>LICENSES: Based on assignment, travel may be required. Those employees who elect to use a motor vehicle for travel must have a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's license or the equivalent from another state.</p> <p>Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines.
