The Director will work closely with SSU's three academic colleges to ensure appropriate online offerings and liaise with various offices on campus to ensure a seamless experience for online students. The Director will also lead efforts to develop articulation agreements with CTCs and community colleges, and will develop, implement, and review prior learning assessment at Shawnee State.</p> <p>Principal Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Principal Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Directs operations of online programs at Shawnee State. </li><li>Provides faculty support for online education. </li><li>Develops and manages student pathway initiatives including articulation agreements and prior learning assessment. </li><li>Ensures compliance with licensing and copyright laws as well as federal and state regulations regarding online learning. </li></ul> <ol> <li>Directs operations of online programs at Shawnee State. </li></ol> <ul> <li>Provides consultation for development, implementation, and evaluation of distance education projects, programs, and initiatives. </li><li>Identifies emerging trends and conducts needs analyses that offer opportunities for new online programming. </li><li>Meets regularly with deans, directors, and chairs to develop and revise responsive plans for initiatives in online education. </li><li>Coordinates with academic departments, marketing/recruitment, and admissions to manage online course offerings. </li><li>Coordinates with admissions, the Office of the Registrar, academic advising, and IT to ensure a seamless student experience from application to enrollment. </li><li>Participates in Shared Governance Processes and Assessment. </li><li>Evaluates, assesses (academic and financial) and provides annual report for all online courses, programs and services. </li><li>Liaises with the Director of Distance Learning and attends Distance Learning Committee meetings. </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Provides faculty support for online education. </li></ol> <ul> <li>Ensures that faculty are properly trained in educational best practices and instructional resources for online pedagogy. </li><li>Works with instructional designer(s) to implement instructional design projects. </li><li>Collaborates with IT to recommend and evaluate technologies relevant to online learning. </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Ensures compliance with licensing and copyright laws as well as federal and state regulations regarding online learning. </li></ol> <ul> <li>Assesses all online course and program offerings for legal compliance. </li><li>Communicates and corrects non-compliance issues. </li><li>Serves as institutional contact for NC-SARA. Responsible for keeping updated on current regulations via NC-SARA webinars and reporting. </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Develops and manages student pathway strategies including articulation agreements and prior learning assessment. </li></ol> <ul> <li>Works with community colleges and CTCs to develop new articulation agreements. </li><li>Communicates with the Office of the Registrar, the Office of Marketing and Communications, and academic departments about current agreements. </li><li>Updates articulation agreements as needed. </li><li>Tracks and assesses articulation agreements. </li><li>Leads the development, implementation, and review of prior learning assessment. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <p>MINIMUM JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Experience in curriculum development and online pedagogies. </li><li>Experience in interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. </li><li>Analytical, problem solving, project management, data management, and organizational skills. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in educational technology, instructional technology, or related field from a regionally accredited higher education institution. </li><li>3-4 years of experience </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Doctoral degree </li><li>Experience teaching at the postsecondary level in an online modality. </li></ul> <p>Shawnee State University offers a competitive starting salary (commensurate with overall qualifications) including an attractive benefits package.
