<p>Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Sr Manufacturing Engineer - Machining. This role is based out of our South Milwaukee, WI location.</p> <p>The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer - Machining is responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of the machining area of the plant consisting of various equipment ranging from mills and lathes to grinding to deliver cost and quality targets. The individual serves as the primary contact with our machining supplier in terms of improving the lifespan of tooling inserts and assists with productivity rates, use of proper equipment, and setup reviews.</p> <p>Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.</p> <p>What you'll do:</p> <ul> <li>Interface directly with all levels of manufacturing and product engineering to support the machining of parts for assembly. Set direction on most efficient routing procedure to machine both new and old parts. </li><li>Responsible for process improvements, machine capacity/capability studies, equipment selection and qualification, and sustainment of company safety and quality standards. </li><li>Troubleshoot machining equipment issues. Partner with maintenance and service vendors to resolve and prevent equipment issues to reduce downtime. </li><li>Lead and participate in problem solving and root cause analysis to eliminate quality issues from production. </li><li>Generate CNC programs as needed to support production. </li><li>Act as site safety champion for machine guarding, ensuring that all new equipment purchased meets Eaton's guarding standards. </li><li>Support training of machine shop personnel on machine set up, machine operation, machine programming, and machine repair as needed. </li><li>Monitor and improve cycle time and process capability of machine shop. </li><li>Drive cost out and productivity improvements in the machine shop through management of continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies. </li><li>Improve current processes by creating process documentation and investigating new tooling and processes. </li><li>Manage capital projects and budgets for machine guarding and new equipment. </li><li>Generate manufacturing information by calculating production & labor rates and material costs. </li><li>Interface with employees to review CNC machining and tooling rates. </li><li>Interface with tooling supplier to ensure use of proper tooling for production. Work with suppliers to develop better cutting tools for specific PM applications. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Required (Basic) Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of science degree in Mechanical or Industrial engineering from an accredited institution </li><li>Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience in a machine shop environment </li><li>Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of G-Code programming for mills and lathes. </li><li>CNC programming/troubleshooting/maintenance experience </li><li>Component and tooling insert design experience. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, verbal, presentation and written communication skills </li><li>Proficient in Mastercam </li><li>Proficiency in GD&T </li><li>Familiar with both Mazatrol and G&M programming languages </li><li>Hands on experience with machine shop equipment setting up, programming, and running equipment. </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Desire to work hands-on in a machine shop environment </li><li>Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (milling, turning, grinding, etc.) </li><li>Proficient using Microsoft office software </li><li>Knowledge of lean tools </li><li>Six Sigma green/black belt certification </li></ul> <p>We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
