<p>Pete's Tire Barns was started by Peter A. Gerry in 1968 and has grown to one of the largest independent tire dealerships in the country. Pete's currently operates 22 full-service locations in New England, a state-of-the art Distribution Center, 3 Bandag retread facilities, employs in excess of 300 people, and operates a fleet of over 100 service and delivery vehicles. Today, approximately 90% of our business is in the commercial truck tire and related markets. Pete's services everything from a wheelbarrow tire up to an earthmover tire. The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of tire operations, including production, safety, quality, maintenance, and team management. This position ensures the store operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all company standards and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong tire knowledge and knowledge of tire retreading processes. We are seeking a candidate with proven ability to drive continuous success in our South Windsor location. Required Experience: Driver's License & clean driving record required Minimum of 3 years in the tire industry required High School Diploma or Equivalent required Experience in tire retreading or manufacturing operations required Minimum of 5 years of customer service experience required Minimum of 3 years of management experience preferred Knowledge of retread manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials is key Requirements: Manage the daily operations of our South Windsor location, facility, mounted wheel, retreading, and distribution Schedule staffing and manage workloads to meet changing production demands Supervise, train, and develop staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of all OTR, Earth Mover, and Commercial tire technicians Optimize workflow, material usage, and labor efficiency to minimize downtime and waste Conduct performance evaluations, coordinate skill development, and lead by example in promoting safety and quality Assists in selling goods and services to customers Manage the store schedule of all services Dispatch and coordinate service for customers at customer facilities or for road service Interact with customers, recommend products and scheduled service Process paperwork and utilize company computer systems to help maintain proper billing and inventory Performs duties of tire technician when needed Support corporate initiatives for efficiency improvement and waste reduction. Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Basic mathematical skills Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in writing, oral or diagram form Computer skills: Basic computer skills; training will be provided as needed Communication skills: Must be good at communicating with customers, employees and vendors in person, on the phone and via electronic tools such as e-mail and text messaging What We Offer: Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k - Pete's match .25% up to 6% employee contribution Vacation - 2 weeks 15k Life Insurance - additional coverage may be purchased Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Physical Demands: Exerts 75 to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Occasionally stoops (bending the body downward and forward by bending at the waist, legs and spine), and kneels (bending the legs at knee to come to rest on knee or knees).
