<p>Kforce has a client in Irvine, CA that is seeking a Director of Software Engineering.</p> <p>Summary: We're looking for a Senior-level Leader to join a fast-moving fintech team modernizing its infrastructure and building scalable, secure financial applications. This is a highly collaborative role where you'll lead an organization across backend services, infrastructure as code, and DevSecOps initiatives. You'll work to evolve a robust microservices environment built primarily in Java on AWS.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Lead a team to design, build, and maintain backend services in Java (Spring Boot) </li><li>Lead a team to support a microservices-based architecture deployed on AWS </li><li>Lead a team in the migration of infrastructure from AWS CDK to Terraform </li><li>Lead and maintain secure coding practices and infrastructure standards </li><li>Collaborate with frontend engineers working in React </li><li>Improve CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions </li><li>Contribute to security tooling (static/dynamic scans, configuration hardening) </li><li>Maintain and evolve MySQL databases and service integrations </li><li>Support team with code reviews, troubleshooting, and production readiness* 10+ years of experience leading backend engineering with Java and Spring Boot </li><li>Python and Node.js </li><li>Experience in fintech, payments, or card issuance </li><li>Knowledge of React or experience collaborating with frontend engineers </li><li>Exposure to static/dynamic security scanning tools </li><li>Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (SQS, IAM, etc.) </li><li>Experience with Terraform or CDK, and understanding of infrastructure-as-code best practices </li><li>Familiarity with CI/CD tools, especially GitHub Actions </li><li>Comfortable working in modern DevOps environments with automated testing and monitoring </li><li>Experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL </li><li>Security-aware mindset, with experience supporting secure code and infrastructure </li></ul>
