In our partnered effort to prepare students for this world, we are equally committed to:</p> <ul> <li>Inclusiveness </li><li>Shared responsibility </li><li>Collaborative relationships </li><li>High expectations </li><li>Inspiring life-long learning </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Hold a valid license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Instructional Technology (all levels), Instructional Technology Specialist, and/or Library Media Specialist and/or </li></ul> <p>Digital Literacy 5-12 and/or Technical Engineering 5-12</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; Master's Degree preferred. </li><li>SEI Endorsement </li><li>Strong district lens regarding EL, curriculum, and equity </li><li>Knowledge of current education legislation/regulations </li><li>Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents and advocate for children in order to effectively problem solve </li><li>Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders </li><li>Experience in an urban district/setting preferred </li><li>Ability to meet the expectations of the Massachusetts Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching Practice </li></ul> <p>Job Details</p> <p>The Instructional Technology Teacher will teach digital literacy, computer applications, introduction to programming, web design and computer technology to students in grades 9-12. The Teacher will need to adapt existing curriculum to provide rigorous, motivating and relevant instruction to a broad range of students. The Teacher will be expected to leverage industry and academic connections to provide students with enriching opportunities inside and outside of classes.</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Remain up-to-date regarding curriculum content and advancements in technology. </li><li>Develop and implement technology lessons at each grade level (9-12). </li><li>Plan collaboratively to implement innovative technology lessons across content areas to be cotaught. </li><li>Develop and implement professional development. </li><li>Maintain technology inventory in classrooms, computer labs, and mobile labs. </li><li>Ensure computer equipment in the building is functioning properly or request support from HelpDesk in a timely manner. </li><li>Be part of the team working with educators and other specialists in the area of technology integration. </li><li>Encourage creativity in students. </li><li>Support teachers in gaining independence in troubleshooting technology problems. </li><li>Identify varying teaching methods for students who learn differently. </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <ul> <li>As negotiated with Lynn School Committee and Lynn Teachers Union. </li><li>180 days per year </li><li>Teacher Salary Estimator </li></ul> <p>BENEFITS: The City of Lynn offers comprehensive and competitive health and dental benefits; Harvard Pilgrim PPO/HMO, Altus Dental High/Low, and Vision.
