As we continue to accelerate our progress, we're seeking educators who are committed, reflective, and ready to collaborate in a learning-focused, student-centered environment.</p> <p>If you're ready to make a meaningful difference and grow as part of a dedicated team, consider building your career with Southbridge Public Schools.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Provides learning experiences in Drama/Theater, guided by the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards and requirements, while creating an environment that is conducive to student learning and involvement. Monitors students' understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusts instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate. The Drama teacher reports to the principal.</p> <ul> <li>Cover one section of performing arts class spanning grades 6 to 8 </li><li>Develop units and lessons to engage students in multiple aspects of theater, production, and performing arts </li><li>Support student learning through project-based, multi-modal approaches to teaching and learning </li><li>Adopt and utilize building wide classroom management techniques </li><li>Provide appropriate feedback on student work </li><li>Maintain and improve professional competence through attendance at professional development events, and by the self-generated activities that meet district expectations and the requirements for recertification </li><li>Shares responsibility for accomplishing the goals and priorities of his/her grade/team/department, building and school district, attending all faculty and committee meetings as required, and district-wide committees as needed </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Southbridge Public Schools is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin, sex, gender identity, disability, religion, age, or sexual orientation.</p>
