Pharmacy technicians will work with pharmacists and pharmacy leadership to support efficient organizational processes. They will be responsible for daily maintenance of the institution's drug distribution system under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical pharmacist. Operational duties include but are not limited to preparation of sterile and non-sterile products, repackaging of medication, stock replenishment in all automated dispensing cabinets, inventory control including controlled substances, submission of third-party payor bills.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or the equivalent required</p> </li><li> <p>Pharmaceutical work experience and general knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and products preferred Previous work experience helpful</p> </li><li> <p>Has successfully passed the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and maintains certification</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated 2+ years of relevant work experience</p> </li><li> <p>Technical skills required to operate pharmacy systems</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience entering information into computers</p> </li><li> <p>Verbal communications skills required to discuss work issues and tasks with co- workers</p> </li><li> <p>Typing skills required to operate computer</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds to move cases</p> </li><li> <p>If driving is a requirement for the employee, he/she must meet the requirements specified in the Fleet Driving Safety and Compliance Policy and must continue to meet these requirements as a condition of employment</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li> <p>Detailed understanding of processes based on advanced role: Pharmacy Operations, Sterile Compounding (hazardous and non-hazardous)</p> </li><li> <p>Completion of multiple PTCB certificates</p> </li><li> <p>2+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician: Certified or equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to take initiative in follow-up and problem solving</p> </li></ul>
