<p>GREATER NEW BEDFORD REGIONAL VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL 2025-2026 School Year</p> <p>10 Month Position - School year (185 days)</p> <p>Please note that multiple positions may be hired from this posting, if necessary.</p> <p>TITLE: Welding/Metal Fabrication Instructor</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Department Administrator</p> <p>WORK YEAR: 185 Days</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Meets and instructs assigned students in designated locations and times. </li><li>Develops and maintains an environment conducive to effective learning. </li><li>Prepare for assigned classes and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of superior. </li><li>Assists students to set and maintain standards of appropriate behavior. </li><li>Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media to meet the needs of the students. </li><li>Implements the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. </li><li>Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. </li><li>Evaluates student progress on a continuing basis. </li><li>Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation. </li><li>Enforces school rules, administrative regulations, and board policy. </li><li>Is available to meet with students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so. </li><li>Participates in faculty meetings. </li><li>Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods. </li><li>Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials. </li><li>Maintains open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning their educational and behavioral progress. </li><li>Participates in staff and faculty meetings. </li><li>Participates in the evaluation process. </li><li>Performs other duties as needed. </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS: Welding or Metal Fab and Joining License - Chap. 74 Approval preferred or eligible for 1 year waiver issued by DESE.</p> <p>Metal Fabrication & Joining Technologies - Preliminary Vocational Technical Teacher License Requirement:</p> <p>? High school diploma or the equivalent</p> <p>? Five years of recent (within the last seven years), full-time employment experience directly related to metal fabrication & joining technologies</p> <p>? Passing score of at least 70% on each test (written test and performance test) in metal fabrication & joining technologies</p> <p>One of the following:</p> <p>? - achieve a passing score on the Vocational Technical Literacy Skills Test (VTLST)</p> <p>? - achieve a passing score on the Communication and Literacy Skills Test</p> <p>Mission and Values The mission of the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical School District is to provide education that is rigorous, relevant, and meaningful to each student in a safe and supportive environment, resulting in academic, career and technical excellence.
