To execute our strategy, we are looking to strengthen our organization with an Account Manager - TBU.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>The Account Manager-Transportation Market is accountable for strategic growth and support of assigned customers in the transportation market which requires familiarity within transportation, agriculture and construction, automotive, or similar OEM. This position reports to the Director of Sales.</p> <p>Responsibilities include developing strong relationships with customers, connecting with key stakeholders and preparing sales reports. Regular communication is critical for keeping things positive and productive, and Account Managers need an organized system for sharing information, proposing solutions and giving updates.</p> <p>In this role, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure high level of support for all assigned customers and prospective new customers; gaining new and maintaining existing business with the highest possible long-term profitability </li><li>Continuously monitor "total customer satisfaction" through formal (scorecards, key performance indicators) and informal means </li><li>Overcome challenges by proposing solutions to issues and communicating opportunities for improvement internally to effectively lead resolution of issues (quality, delivery, technical support, price) </li><li>Engage in activities to enhance profitability i.e. raw material pass through, collection of obsolescence costs, terms compliance, cost reductions </li><li>Partner with Customers' Purchasing and Engineering Groups but also maintain relationship with other customer groups such as Operations, Scheduling, and Quality </li><li>Effectively manage time between supporting current business and developing new business in complex and dynamic environment </li><li>Receive RFQs for business and follow documented procedures to gather the information necessary to provide a quotation to the customer in a timely manner </li><li>Coordinate and lead regular business reviews with key customers, requires effective preparation, facilitation and follow up </li><li>Proactively anticipate and resolve issues with customers or stakeholders and escalate timely to leadership </li><li>Collaborate with supervisor to develop an annual sales plan and to achieve or exceed the sales and profit targets </li><li>Prepare regular sales reports and forecast updates as necessary (requires strong Excel) </li><li>Work collaboratively and strategically with ECI technical groups to develop new business opportunities and execute cost take out activities at assigned customers </li><li>Aid in the coordination of internal activities to support customer projects. i.e. product development, program management, operations management, customer support </li><li>Lead negotiation of customer contracts and coordination of ECI internal team members following defined process </li><li>Help evaluate and improve the business systems of the Sales Group </li><li>Work independently but frequently inform supervisor of activity </li><li>Able to work effectively in a home office </li><li>Other duties and responsibilities as determined by supervisor </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university; technical degree is preferred by not required </li><li>Minimum 3 years of strategic selling with strong preference for industry experience within the supply base similar to ECI; specifically in a transportation, agriculture and construction, automotive, or similar OEM </li><li>Strong communication skills with ability to interface with internal and external customers in fast paced and complex environment </li><li>Effective presentation, negotiation and communication skills, both oral and written </li><li>Strategic mindset and consultative selling approach </li><li>History of execution and delivering results </li><li>Proven analytical and problem-solving skills; strong critical thinking skills required </li><li>General business skills including negotiation, organization, good judgement, emotional intelligence, initiative and ability to drive results with a diverse cross functional team. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel </li><li>Exposure to dashboards such as BI dashboards and reports </li><li>Must be willing to travel frequently (up to 20%) </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Effective presentation, negotiation and communication skills, both oral and written </li><li>Proven analytical and problem-solving skills; strong critical thinking skills required </li><li>General business skills including negotiation, organization, good judgement, emotional intelligence, initiative and ability to drive results with a diverse cross functional team </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel </li><li>Exposure to dashboards such as BI dashboards and reports </li><li>Must be willing to travel frequently (up to 20%) </li></ul> <p>Work Location</p> <p>While this role is remote, we are ideally seeking a candidate in the Metro Detroit area.</p> <p>Our Culture</p> <p>At ECI, we live by our core values of respect, empathy, accountability, integrity, and ethics.
