We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and outgoing Parent Educator to provide guidance and support to families from pregnancy through age 5. This role implements the evidence-based Parents as Teachers (PAT) model to help parents become their child's first and most influential teacher.</p> <p>MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Personal Visitations: Plan and conduct regular home visits to provide developmental information and parenting support.</p> </li><li> <p>Program Development: Work with the Director to establish and implement the Parents as Teachers (PAT) Program.</p> </li><li> <p>Screenings & Playgroups: Conduct developmental screenings, facilitate playgroups, and lead group meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Recruitment & Outreach: Lead recruitment activities and develop brochures, newsletters, and community announcements.</p> </li><li> <p>Administration: Maintain detailed records of visits, prepare enrollment materials (forms/policies), and perform necessary clerical duties.</p> </li><li> <p>Leadership: Provide organization and coordination for PAT activities and participate in Advisory Committee meetings.</p> </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education: High School Diploma or equivalency required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Background in Child Development and/or certification as a Parent Educator under the Parents as Teachers (PAT) program is highly desirable.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience: Proven experience working directly with parents and young children (prenatal to age 5).</p> </li><li> <p>Interpersonal Skills: Must be outgoing, comfortable meeting new people, and maintain a strictly nonjudgmental approach.</p> </li><li> <p>Professionalism: Ability to work independently while observing strict confidentiality regarding family information.</p> </li><li> <p>Organization: Well-organized with functional clerical skills and the ability to manage long-range planning.</p> </li></ul> <p>RATE OF PAY: $21.79 - $26.51 per hour (Commensurate with educational level)</p> <p>START DATE: March 23, 2026</p> <p>APPLICATION PROCEDURE:</p> <p>EXTERNAL APPLICANTS: Please submit your application through our website: www.putnamschoolsct.org</p> <p>INTERNAL APPLICANTS: Please submit a letter of interest and updated resume to Patricia Bryant-Beausoleil, Family Resource Center Director</p> <p>APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: Open until filled</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p>
