You will face shifting priorities and legacy trade-offs, but that is exactly what makes the work meaningful and your impact tangible.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <p>Deliver meaningful, measurable impact to the Uber's mobile apps through improvements to Maps mobile SDK</p> <p>Design, develop and test maps APIs and features in collaboration with senior engineers, product managers and designers</p> <p>Participate in team's on-call and support duties to ensure continuous availability of our systems and services.</p> <p>Documentation: Maintain clear, structured documentation of APIs, workflows, and processes to ensure consistent knowledge sharing.</p> <p>Communication: Clear communicator with the ability to justify decisions and negotiate tradeoffs.</p> <p>Basic Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. </li><li>Proficiency with Android development using Java and Kotlin programming languages </li><li>Strong foundation of software engineering principles including system design, data structures, algorithms and performance. </li><li>Strong sense of engineering ownership with a proven track record of completing projects on time with a high-quality bar </li><li>Demonstrated eagerness to learn, share knowledge, mentor, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>1+ yrs of professional software engineering building large scale products </li><li>Experience working on a well known Android app with millions of users. </li><li>Experience with SDK architectures, including API design, schema evolution and backward compatibility. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to translate business problems into well-reasoned technical designs and implementations. </li><li>Experience identifying and driving improvements in system performance, reliability, scalability, or developer productivity. </li></ul> <p>Ready to ride?
