For more information, refer to Required Documents below.</p> <p>This vacancy will remain open until filled.</p> <p>The psychiatrist performs general psychiatric assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team. The psychiatrist will work closely with their colleagues to provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art mental health care.</p> <p>Duties include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>The psychiatrist will perform evaluations, diagnosis(es), treatments, and preventions of mental health disorders </li><li>Perform comprehensive examinations and assessments, determining diagnosis(es), and completing medical work-ups. </li><li>Develop and implement treatment plans, referring to other specialties or appropriate community resources. </li><li>Provide appropriate clinical documentation of patient care in the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) in a timely manner. Training regarding the use of CPRS will be provided by the VAMC. All documentation shall be completed in accordance with VA policy and procedures. </li><li>Ensure accreditation requirements are met for all applicable survey and inspection processes to include, but are not limited to compliance with JCHACO, CARF, and OIG </li><li>Follow all VA guidelines regarding infection control and safety. </li><li>Adhere to all quality performance measures. </li><li>Provide examinations/reviews as assigned to support Mental Health services. </li><li>Collaborate with approved fee-based community Mental Health inpatient programs to assist/coordinate discharge planning, medication and follow-up appointments, as well as, coordinating with ambulatory care services, as appropriate. </li><li>May participate in supervision of residents and medical students assigned to Outpatient Psychiatry and/or Emergency Department. </li></ul> <p>VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
