<p>The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking Direct Support Professional II's (DSP) with three (3) years or more experience working with adults with intellectual disability (ID) and experience inside an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF), residential or long-term care setting to work in our Indian River Road Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) in Developmental Services Division.</p> <p>The selected candidate will qualify for a $2,500 hiring bonus!</p> <p>Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain the health, safety, and well-being of all participants in the program.</p> </li><li> <p>Administer medications as prescribed utilizing the 5 Rights of administration.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with and/or complete hygiene tasks to include, but not limited to, showering, bathing, utilizing the restroom, changing protective undergarments, brushing teeth, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize safety and medical equipment as directed and trained by clinical staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with scheduling and escorting on medical appointments.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure all necessary documentation from medical appointments and events are properly obtained and routed.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure all residents receive a well-balanced meal a minimum of three times per day with a morning and afternoon snack option.</p> </li><li> <p>Actively provide input into ongoing needs and resource identification processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify, schedule, and support participants to participate in various community integration opportunities.</p> </li><li> <p>Transport participants with the use of a city vehicle and/or personal vehicle (dependent on program and city vehicle availability).</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure that assigned participants are involved at all times in meaningful work activities or, in the absence of work at group job sites, in activities meaningful to the development of work skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as an advocate to ensure the participant's employer's policies, procedures, and job site opportunities are applied fairly.</p> </li></ul> <p>Available Shifts:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Sun - Thurs: 2pm to 10pm</p> </li><li> <p>Tues - Sat: 2pm to 10pm</p> </li></ul> <p>Hiring bonuses shall only be for new hires of original employment or reemployment as defined in Human Resources Policy No. 5.0.</p> <ul> <li> <p>$500 will be awarded in the first paycheck.</p> </li><li> <p>$750 will be awarded upon completion of the six (6) month interim performance evaluation with an overall rating of "Meets Expectations".</p> </li><li> <p>$1,250 will be awarded upon completion of the employee's one (1) year probationary period and a performance evaluation with an overall rating of "Meets Expectations".</p> </li></ul> <p>The City offers a?generous benefits package, which includes health, dental and life insurance, retirement and savings plans, maternity/paternity and parental leave, holidays and paid leave.</p> <p>Make a meaningful impact in our community and apply today!</p>
