<p>Embedded Software Test Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are seeking a dedicated Embedded Software Test Engineer to ensure system-level embedded software quality excellence. This role involves creating, maintaining, and utilizing software test solutions to guarantee product testability. The Embedded Software Test Engineer will play a crucial role in leading development teams, isolating, reporting, and tracking software defects through resolution, and contributing to embedded software development tasks as needed.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Ensure system-level embedded software quality excellence through the creation, maintenance, and use of software test solutions. </li><li>Provide software and hardware design for test input to development team members to enhance product testability. </li><li>Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test documentation. </li><li>Lead development teams in isolating, reporting, and tracking software defects through resolution. </li><li>Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software testing and test automation. </li><li>Contribute to embedded software development tasks as workload requires or between testing projects. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 2-3 years of industry experience in software testing or software development with a significant focus on test automation. </li><li>Strong programming skills in C/C++. </li><li>Familiarity with embedded system analog, digital, and communication interfaces. </li><li>Experience with unit test frameworks. </li><li>Proficiency in using debugging tools, and a foundational understanding of tools like oscilloscopes or logic analyzers for troubleshooting. </li><li>Knowledge of software development lifecycles, testing methodologies, and best practices, including version control and defect tracking. </li><li>In-depth knowledge of testing communication interfaces. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering. </li><li>Familiarity with languages commonly used in test automation (C#, Python, or related). </li><li>Experience with specific DAQ hardware/software (DAQ USB-1208HS-4AO, or related). </li><li>A good understanding of basic electrical engineering concepts and the ability to read and interpret schematics. </li><li>Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS). </li></ul> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Permanent position based out of Appleton, WI.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/yr.</p> <p>great benefits, 401k, match, PTO, flexibility to work remotely a couple of days per week</p> <p>Workplace Type</p> <p>This is a fully onsite position in Appleton,WI.</p> <p>Application Deadline</p> <p>This position is anticipated to close on Mar 19, 2026.</p> <p>About Actalent</p> <p>Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
